"Better than Epson Rx620" on by smoothmc

Pros: photo quality, Smallest print heads on the market, makes a Big differences

    Cons: doesn't scan film

Summary: I just did a photo print test at Best Buy with this printer and the Epson Rx620. This Canon was less noisy in the shadow areas and color was much more vivid. Also with the Epson you could see the doplets or print head marks. Canon uses the smallest print heads on the market. The more inks Epson tries to sell you isn't worth it. This Canon MP500 is better at printing photos and much faster.

im not on either side ... i like canon's products and i like epson's products... but its impossible for the dye ink in the canon to look more vivid then the pigmented ink in the Epson... also at the resoultion of 5760 x 1440 its also hard to believe you saw pixilation.. unless the epson needed a serious head cleaning you also dont see banding....So i went to my local best buy and did the same comparison of a picture of my niece off my Sd card... and found the 2 printer to produce almost the same photo... the epson was a little brighter but not by much... and the Rx620 is a 2 year old printer from epsons line..... Printer your photos on a Cx7800 which has Epson's new durabright ultra ink.... and the cx7800 only has 4 cartridge system compared to Canon's 6 cartridge system.. the photos on the epson look more vivid each time....thankyou
