"These devices have sure come a long way!"
Pros: Fantastic print quality, very quiet, quick and simple to configure
Cons: Quite large
Summary: I'd been debating whether to purchase a photo printer for some time and had virtually concluded that it was better to send my photos to a store to be printed, rather than go to the expense and hassle of buying and maintaining one of these printers. Based on my experience with high end inkjets from 2-3 years ago, I found them to be expensive to run, always in need of maintenance/calibration and the print quality was not that flash.
What really swayed me to invest in the MP760 was the reported excellent photo print quality, plus the ability to scan in my old negatives. It's early days yet, but in the 2 days I've owned the printer, I've been delighted with it. The quality of the output straight out of the box is remarkable - better than I get from a specialist professional photo printing company. Prints are vibrant, with accurate colour and great skin tones. Scanning is a simple procedure and it's great to see my old negs in digital format. To think I'd been contemplating getting them professionally scanned at enormous cost. I'm so pleased I waited for this device to arrive.
Congratulations Canon, you have a winner here and one very satisfied customer!
