"Canon Good Stuff!" on by pfloyd63
Pros: I am very pleased with this printer. I have always liked canon. Nice prints. Fairly speedy, inexpensive inks with a number of options for purchase.
For $45 at Walmart you can't go wrong.Cons: Pictures do not print as well as a higher end model might. Does not come with a USB cable.
Summary: If you need a printer for everyday use. This just might be the one!

"Buying # of cartridges costs more than your gas bill." on by Ca11MeLatr
Pros: Color prints are beautiful, and black print is crisp.
Cons: I am not exaggerating about the small ink cartridges. I wrote a research paper and printed out supporting documentation. Not once but TWICE, the black ink cartridge lasted TWO DAYS. I got this free (rebate) and it is STILL not paying for itself.
Summary: For a relatively large printer, the ink cartridges are sized for a portable. I intend to buy another printer, and am glad I received a 100% rebate for this one. The size of the ink tanks is its only (HUGE!) drawback.

"Junk. Junk. Junk!" on by wolfproctor
Pros: It worked for three weeks.
Cons: It worked for three weeks.
Summary: A shoddy product I received as a well-intentioned gift for college. Ink was cheap enough, and while it worked it did indeed print beautiful copies. I wasn't pleased with how the paper loaded, and scans were sometimes incomplete. After about three weeks of use, after printing maybe twenty copies, it tanked. The paper feed failed, the USB became glitchy and unstable, and I started getting streaks and smears right before it refused to work anymore. I took it back with the gift receipt and used the store credit for an HP, which has worked flawlessly. I was not impressed with this product, and I am wondering why Canon has sunk to such low quality in their printers.

"An fabulous Home Office Printer" on by trompfy
Pros: If you put too much paper in the tray it keeps on jamming, which is very annoying.
Cons: It doesn't come with a USB Cable
Summary: The MX300 is a really nice printer. It's features are endless, the build quality is superb, and it's incredibly reliable. It looks great too and is perfect for a home office.

"Absolute junk - returned mine" on by Retrospectiv
Pros: There are none.
Cons: Slow to print
Paper loader malfunctions & causes 'fake' jams
Just plain cheap JUNKSummary: I had this all in one for just under 2 years. Used it maybe half a dozen times, kept covered, still had original plastic on it.
It had issues loading paper from the start, was VERY slow to print even b&w pages when it did work, and the other week when I tried to use it would only load the paper an inch, then say it was jammed and load no further. There was NO jam.
I returned it to Staples last night. Manager there said she'd had the same model....and the same problems. Apparently the mechanism that runs the wheels stops working and it doesn't feed the paper. Common issue. Mine wasn't an abused or overused printer, was still like brand new and wouldn't work properly.
There are MUCH better cheap all in ones out there. Avoid this one new or used.
