Reliable IF handled respectfully
Dual paper inputsCons: OEM ink costs - ugh!
Color ink usage not stingy
Depth of unit precludes bookshelf placementSummary: Canon again produces a reliable multifunction printer with enough features to provide good value for the SOHO user. With two paper inputs, copy, fax and scan options and great software, users office users should be happy with the output. A simple front panel interface makes on-the-fly changes easy. While not super complicated to setup in WiFi mode, users running security on their routers will need to pay heed to the alternate instructions. As an OFFICE (not photo) printer it does the job well.
As always with Canon, keeping the printer in ink remains somewhat expensive. I own two other Canon photo printers that produced great photos with ridiculous than merely unreasonable ink cartridge costs.
Whether they use a little or a lot of ink per page, Canon OEM ink is expensive. Because I love Canon quality and reliability (my S820 is 9-10 years old), I shop mightily for deals on Canon ink.
Other than that, this printer lives up to its price point and will serve the Canon line well.
