Pros Build, design, controls, FAX features, excellent scan and the Canon name. Easy and excellent set-up. Very good software.
Cons No Bluetooth. No Wi-Fi. S L O W. Did I say S L O W? I've never owned such a slow printer just for B/W text. No USB cord includd but required for set-up(???). Lid top is unstable when opening (may just be my unit). Finding ink is difficult.
Summary Still an excellent choice because Canon is a quality company and imaging is what they have always done well. I loved the software and unlike HP, it wasn't bloated. If you can tolerate the lack of ink availibility and slower than HP speeds, it's a good consideration.LCD screen is VERY small. Could be a bit larger.

Pros Has vivid colors and excellent resolution. Can save files as PDF.
Cons Slow to start printing. Bulky unit that takes up a lot of desk space.
Summary We started off with a HP printer that gave me fits every time I tried to print birthday cards to send to the employees. Next we got a high end HP that was horrible. I checked reviews and found that this was the printer I needed. I have not been disappointed.

Pros Color is good and the quality of print fine.
S--L--O--W to print
Paper tray is very small
Summary After frustrations with my HP all-in-one dying just after warranty expiration, I wanted a new brand. After much research, I settled on the Cannon MX7600.
The machine prints the pages from the first page (on the bottom of the pile) to the last page (on the top of the pile), meaning that you have to sort your pages to get them in proper order. Not a problem on a 1-3 page document, but if you work with larger documents it gets old very fast. If you do a fair amount of printing, store your paper close by, the paper tray doesn't hold much.
Also, when you print, it pops up an extra review screen and you have to press "start printing" before it will slowly print your document. It's an extra step that seems to not be a problem when you print one file. The downsize is printing multiple files.
The review screen only appears after the current job has stopped printing. If you are trying to print a lot of different documents you will not be able to do it quickly nor will you be able to wander to far from the machine since you have to press the start printing button for each file.
When the reviewers said is had a large footprint, believe them, this puppy is huge. It's got this hunk in the rear that I have hanging off the back of my desk to give me some elbow room.
I also work from home periodically and have to connect to our secure network. Printing when connected to that network is unstable. I can print a document fine one minute and another it prints gibberish. I'm working with IT to see if there is a fix.
For general light home users, this machine will be great and it does have a good quality print. If you are a heavy user I would suggest you look at something different.
Pros Nice print quality and features
Cons Ink is unavailable except direct from Canon. Expensive ink.
Summary If ANY ink cartridge is empty, say, a color ink, and you're only printing B&W. the printer WILL NOT PRINT until you replace the empty cartridge EVEN IF THAT CARTRIDGE IS NOT BEING USED!!!.
Inks are not carried by ANY of the major office supply companies, are NOT available locally, even in Denver, and are ONLY available direct from Canon. If you need ink quickly, you're totally out of luck.
Even if it were the best printer out there, it's USELESS without ink. And if you have ink overnighted from Canon, it's even more expensive. Oh, and one that I tried to order from Canon directly was BACKORDERED.
Horrible decision by Canon to use an exotic ink cartridge with severe availability issues for what would otherwise be a good printer.
Horrible decision to have B&W printing dependent on ALL cartridges being full.
I can't recommend this printer do to the fact that you just can't readily get ink for it. BIG thumbs down for Canon on this one.
Pros As a fairly serious amature photographer who works as a business consultant at home, I'm really happy with the quality of photo prints while having a really great business machine for scanning, copying, faxing, and printing.
Cons It is really big and takes a bit more time than it should starting jobs if its been idle.
