"Very pleased"
Pros: Great multifunction laser
Cons: None observed
Summary: I bought Dell 1125 multifunction because it offered a flatbed, newer design.
Core functions:
1. copy ? Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) or manual load, works perfectly
2. scan ? I was most impressed with this feature. Easy to scan from menu on the unit or you can control from your PC. Manual from the ?scanner glass? or you can use the ADF. It can scan directly to many options: file, email, PDF, MS Paint, Dell?s ?Paper Port?, Word? I?ve experimented with several ?scan to? options and all work very well, even at higher resolutions. Very impressed for an inexpensive home all-in-one unit.
3. fax ? took a few tries and then I had to actually read the manual. After that, easy to use the ADF or manually.
4. print ? fast, no complaints.
Additionally:
1. very quiet. I?ve had a Brother and an HP 3050 and the 1125 seems quieter
2. some users complained about Dell?s printers warm up times. The 1125 has almost no delay.
3. Dell?s ?MFP Center? software installed (on 3 notebooks at my home) perfectly and is easy to use. MPF Center allows you to preview your copy, scan, and fax.
4. Dell supplies an actual physical ?book? manual.
5. ADF performs very well and is very quiet
6. while the menu is not back lit, adjustable contrast is easy to read (without my glasses)
7. copy, scan, fax resolutions may not be high enough for some, but for a home multifunction unit, it has surpassed my expectation.
8. one very small annoyance is each time you unplug the USB from your notebook, a toner control pop up requires you to close this reminder.
