"Don't buy Dell Printers. Toner is a killer$"
Pros: It is a laser printer so you get decent quality
Cons: We went on Amazon.com, bought what was to be compatible toner. Dell puts chips/electronic features (as many OEMs do) that detect that the toner installed is NOT OEM, and does not let PRN communication with PC. U r going $pend fortune on toner!
Summary: We Home School our kids so we use printing very much. I thought I would buy a laser printer to do b/w jobs and have another (Kodak) printer to do color jobs, so I was hoping to get a good printer do b/w only, saving $ on toner. Do yourself a favor: before you buy a printer, check out some of the reviews online at various sites. Pay attention to whether or not you are able to use inexpensive non-OEM toner (or if the OEM toner is reasonably priced). You cannot do that without comparing to other equivalent printers so shop around. I have been very dissatisfied with EVERY Dell printer I have ever had. Dell seems to make excellent PCs & Laptops, but I believe they have a long way to go to become competitive with printers.
