Pros Prints documents
Cons Fails horribly at printing
Summary This is the worst printer I have ever used. I've been using it for around 8 months now, and there's problem after problem with it.
I'll start with the positives.
1. It prints stuff.
The quality's good and it gets the job done, so it does do the job.
2. Scanner works.
The scanner's pretty useful for scanning images, hand-written notes, etc etc.
1. It uses so much ink, it's not funny.
At roughly $15-20 a cartridge, ink isn't cheap. This printer goes through ink so quickly, I'm amazed at how big the cartridge is relative to the amount of pages you can print.
2. The scanner doesn't work too well.
The scanner ends up cutting off parts of pretty much every single document you scan. I've gotten around by using a whiteboard marker to draw a big black box around the entire thing I'm scanning - not a method you want to use.
3. The paper jams.
It took me 8 tries to print a 2-page document. The printer will jam almost every single time, and the stupid printer ink reminder will register it as having used ink even if it didn't because of a paper jam. Thus, the software keeps telling you that the "print quality" won't be good due to lack of ink even when you have roughly half of your ink left.
That's about it. While there are some good aspects to this printer, the bad aspects of it seriously outweigh and negate the good aspects. Avoid this printer at all costs and buy something better from a different company.
Pros very cheap; I bought it for only $50; light weight
Cons Dell ink is very expensive, very frequent paper jams, frequent communication problems with printer, had to get it replaced after only a few months of using it
Summary This printer was such a waste of money. I should have just spent more and gotten a printer that actually works. This one broke down literally a month or two after I began using it. I had to get it replaced and received a refurbished printer, which sucks too. There are constant paper jams and communication errors. It seems like I can't get through one print job without an error message coming up. The paper feeding mechanism must be faulty. No matter how I load the paper or how much I load, there are paper jam errors. I'm never buying a Dell printer ever again!
Pros Absolutely nothing
Cons Bought printer with new computer, but it won't communicate with the Dell computer. Dell service sucks!!!!!!!!!! They don't care if their junk works or not, but they're happy to charge for a service call. Don't buy this future piece of landfill junk.
Pros Makes a great copier/door jam
Cons It's too heavy to throw through the window
Summary After a major problem with Dell received one free. Almost immediately paper feed had trouble feeding paper. Shortly thereafter began having serious driver issues. Never able to determine if Dell printer messed up Dell computer or vise-versa. Many many people have had similar issues. I bought a new computer (HP) and a new printer (Epson). Dell All-In-On is useful as copier, at least until ink runs out then bye-bye. Blank ink seems to last longer than expected but uses color ink far too quickly.
Pros I love everything about it. It scans well and it prints well.
Cons The ink does seem to run out a bit quickly, especially the color, and getting cheap ink refills elsewhere don't work so you have to buy the more expensive ink from Dell.
Summary I love everything about it, but the ink does seem to run out a bit quickly.
