Pros When it works its acceptable for low to mid range quality images and text
Cons When anything goes wrong its trash- Printer head is not replaceable and fails often. Ink is very expensive and cartridges have a low page count
Summary Move on and save yourself cash and headache.
Pros Turns On, looks pretty, makes interesting sounds when deep cleaning the print head which is required. Which is nearly every time printing is required. Surface is large to catch plenty of dust from lack of use.
Cons This printer has been replaced three times, along with two print heads. I print about 150 pages a month and this unit can not handle even that. Scanner works, but always with errors. Fax has poor quality and jams every time.
Summary Dell has replaced this printer twice but today said they cannot help when I contacted them to upgrade to a lazer printer. I am amazed that this printer is still for sale. The loss of goodwill and cost of replacing this piece of junk has sent me to another manufacturer. I still love my Dell desktop and laptop but this printer is terrible. Do not buy it or face the nightmare of awful quality documents then replacements and returns.
Pros Very easy to connect to wireless network. Good graphics, and very good printing.
Cons NEVER HAPPENED TO ME, but I will take CNET at their word, and accept that the printer is prone to jamming.
Summary One of the negatives that Cnet cites, is that there is no Mac drivers. That is not entirely true. Dell will not supply Apple drivers, for various reasons. However a bit of ingenuity helps. I d/l from Lexmark's (the printer's maker) web site the comparable printer's driver for the Mac. The comparable printer(that I surmised) is Pro200-S505.
It works flawlessly from the 3 Macs on my home network.
