"Great great printer..."
Pros: Beautiful text output. Fast, fast, fast. Incredible picture output. Low price. Did I mention fast.
Cons: Didn't like being directly hooked up to my Fuji camera, but it did work with the memory card alone.
Summary: I bought this printer because I thought it would be a cheap replacement for my last photo printer. But instead I got so much more than I bargained for. First off it is very fast and prints very beautiful text. Something that as far as Epson's were concerned I typically conceded to HPs when plain paper is concerned. But that is no more... Secondly... the photo output is simply beautiful... And I have owned a lot of Epson printers and I was very very impressed by this unit. I set my Fuji cam on only its 2M setting and the pictures that printed out were beautiful. And it printed them very quickly. I print a lot of business cards and normally on the high quality setting on glossy business cards, my last epson would take around 20 to 30 minutes to print 20 sheets of business cards... With this one it was all done is less than 10 minutes... By the time I fed one sheet in... it was almost ready for the next... I can't say enough good about this thing...

Sounds like you haven't had the printer long. I was first impressed with the print quality. However, It quit working after less than 6 months. I borrowed my son's CX4200 and found it was twice as fast. Epson's Durabrite ink is made for continuous use. If you don't use it often enough. (in other words don't take a week's vacation) the ink dries enough to clog the jets. And Don't go home at night without turning it off, it will dry out fast that way, too. And their warranty is worthless. They sent me another printer a cx5000. Look at the ratings on it. Some people are saying that getting less than 100 copies per cartridge. It is rated to give 245 copies per cartridge. That means a whole set of cartridges or more a month for me at $50. I can't afford to keep their "replacement"

I'd like to know how do you get those great great pictures on your epson cx4800? i have a 7 mp camera, i use the best settings on both , camera and printer, i enhance the pics with adobe but the pictures are not as sharp as the ones taken with a 35 mm cam. and those, with my best knowledge are = 5mp.
could you tell me your secrets.
