"No more Epsons for me. Stay away...."
Pros: Nice features, it's quick, LCD preview screen, great scanner.
Cons: Poor ink flow, clogs, pics not as crisp as I expected & noisy.
Summary: It only took 8 days for the nozzles to clog on this one. I've had 2 Epson printers in the past and they both suffered the same problem. The color ink distribution system clogs and ruins the photo printing experience. Everything using black prints great, unfortunately, I didn't buy it to use only black ink.
The only thing I'm happy about is that this happened in time for me to get my $$ back. I knew that Epson was notorius for the ink flow problems, but I liked this product so well that I gave them another chance, but it didn't work out.
The first 3 or 4 color print sessions went fine. Then I tried to print some pics of fish for my daughter's school project and the blue ink wouldn't come out. So I reluctantly used the head cleaning feature in the printer. After 2 cylces I was able to get an average print with a few lines throught it, but it was far from good and it sucked almost 25% of the ink from ALL the cartridges, not just the blue. So I can see this machine being a huge ink hog just to get average pictures.
I like everything else about the machine, really. But the nice features and functionality(expect color printing) are not enough to make up for the ink problem. Because if it doesn't print correctly, then all the other features are a waste.
