"The ink is used up too fast to be useful." on by tjordan3
Pros: Looks good
Cons: Ink lasts for about 10 pages, or 6 nozzle cleanings. After that you have to buy a whole new set of ink. Wont work with just a black ink cartridge even if you only want to print black
Summary: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY BUYING THIS PRINTER NO MATTER HOW CHEAP IT COSTS

"Run Awaaaay!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!" on by dreaelaine
Pros: I think only a masochist could find anything to like about this evil machine. If you enjoy self-flagellation, thumb screws, and bouts on the rack, this is the printer for you!
Cons: Vampires are cool. Blood-sucking, money-eating, document-shredding printers/scanners, not so much. (And don't try to call Epson when the thing doesn't work. Their tech and customer relations departments are unhelpful and, at moments, downright rude.)
Summary: Good news for those who enjoy ruffled shirts and brandishing rapiers at helpless civilians: highway robbery isn't dead! This printer requires that all four cartridges have ink in them, even if all you need is a simple black-and-white job. This requires the hapless consumer to spend ridiculous amounts of money on something she doesn't need. It's tricky and downright mean that this fact isn't revealed until after you've purchased and used the product. (Color printing is fun, but not always necessary. Products should be flexible and allow consumers to use them to their full potential.)
On top of the extortion part, the whole printing part rarely works correctly. The machine gobbles paper on a regular basis, shredding it to bits, requiring lots of time to pick out little pieces of one's documents from the device's innards.
Not only is this machine torturous, it is positively Medieval in its operation. You could probably build yourself a better printer out of blocks of wood. Shame on you, Epson, for selling such a shoddy machine that puts consumers on the hook to buy ink they don't need, for a product that doesn't work. -
"Crap! Don't buy it!" on by mattmmille
Pros: None! Don't buy it!
Cons: See below for numerous problems.
Summary: Got this printer as a refurb from Comp USA for $45. Ink was wrapped, but not working. Tried cleaning MANY times. Spent $62 and some change on new ink...couldn't recognize the cartridges, finally pulled all out and installed ona at a time. Poor print quality. More multiple cleanings. No good and then finally stopped recognizing the cartridges again and couldn't get past the error this time. Looks nice, but doesn't function and ink is expensive.

"Great Product, photos are great, def worth the price" on by Flago89
Pros: I loved everything about the printer, but if i had to choose one thing it would be the quality of the photos, and the price was great
Cons: The only thing i did not like was the size, a little to bulky but the quality and price out ways that flaw
Summary: I am a printer, and i work with high quality copiers all day, and for this printer that cost me 100 bucks to print out high quality photos like it did is truly amazing i love this product and i recommend it to everyone.

"Intentionally designed to be defective." on by maydayfitz
Pros: Cheap initial price
Cons: Criminally poor performance designed to force the owner to buy more cartridges from the printer's manufacturer.
Summary: NEVER buy this printer. It was the subject of a class action lawsuit. The machine is designed to pretend the ink cartridges are spent, even when they are not even close to empty, so Epson can gouge the owner with expensive replacement ink. I do not know why stores like Target still sell these -- it is a scam, pure and simple.
