"Friends don't let friends buy Epson"1.5 starson by abell1204
Pros: At less than $60 I'm surprised they could produce the box and packaging for that.
Cons: The product suffers from being too cheap AND from being from a company that doesn't care
Summary: The Yellow ink cartridge broke right out of the wrapper. the Much-too-heavy plastic bag caught on the click-tab and ripped it, so the cartridge would not remain seated. This kept the machine from ever initializing. The software cannot be told to "continue" past this error, so this meant a trip to the store to buy a replacement cartridge.
The std cartridge is #124, but stores do not carry that number, only #125 and #126 (26 being the extra capacity ink, which I did not need.
the listing of what models fits what printer is confusing, different between the black & yellow, so even with the help of an employee, we both guessed (wrongly) that the #125 cartridge would work. It won't. It's is IDENTICAL IN EVERY WAY and it fits PERFECTLY, but the sensor tabs are different so the printer can't sense the pack.
#124 fits #125 does not #126 does and each one has a different, but overlapping "fits" listing????? Are they kidding? That is how little they think of their customers?
Back to the store, get the correct cartridge (expensive extra-capacity is all anyone carries) print FIVE pages in black and white ...
and the software tells me that ALL cartridges are ALL low on ink!
I printed three envelopes and all three came out with an ink smudge on the leading edge.
I owned the first Epson COLOR inkjet printer they ever made. The Stylus - back before EVERY printer they made was called that. I'd forgotten why I hadn't had an Epson since.
