Pros I have had 3 Epson Printers now. The first was a Color Stylus II. I used it a couple years then gave it (and computer) to my daughter going to university. She used it for another 4 years and it still works now. Second Epson is Color Stylus 850. I bought t
Cons It would make a great deal of sense if Epson would offer optional Durabrite cartridges in all 6 colors (yes they call black one of the six colors). The RX500 would then become much closer to Excellent... Archival quality prints anyone? Another negative is
Pros None at all
Cons Prints only blank pages after 1 year
Summary Had this for one year, worked great.
suddently within one hours it went from working fine, to printing blank pages, not a single drop of ink.
Epsons solution buy new ink carts. did so failed
take to service center where repairs could cost more then the printer.
I think it is designed to break after 1 year, it's as if someone flipped a switch. Back to HP or Cannon for me, epson will never get my money again.

Pros Very Good Photo Quality. Decent speed.
Cons Requires too much cleaning which sucks ink. Ink is expensive. Have gone Through 3 units so far in 15 months.
Summary Was convinced to buy this last christmas at Office depot because it was supposed to be better than the HP I was looking at. I paid almost $300. Found out that the individual ink cartridges are as expensive to replace as the HP Tricolor. If you are out of one tank you can not print. Requires way too many cleaning cycles. Each cycle uses about 10% of your ink.
The Card reader is great. Had trouble with the unit printing Garbage when It was hooked up to a USB hub. Cutomer service says to Plug directly into the Computer only. My first Unit failed just inside of one year. Was sent a replacement (refurb) unit. It lasted 2 months. Customer service told me that I was out of luck and could either spend almost the cost of a new machine to get this one fixed or buy a new machine. I said if I bought a new machine I wouldn't buy and epson. They didn't like that and decided to send me another machine, (I am assuming another refurb). They told me that they don't make these any more but they don't normally have this issue. Well I must be unlucky because I have two machines in a row that have had the same problem. If my latest replacement craps out I will not even bother with them and go back to HP.
Pros I bought the Lexmark P6250 and was severly let down by the photo print quality. After exchanging it for the RX500 I can not believe what a difference there was. Photos are just as good as anything I've recieved from the photolab. Scanner quality is also v
Cons No LCD screen. But I do all my printing from the PC anyways.
Pros - Easy to setup and use - Nice looking - First photo I printed turned out better than I expected - Reads a variety of memory cards/sticks and the like - Has separate ink cartridges so don't have to replace all of them if one runs out before the others - 6
Cons - I was shocked to find that the installation CD automatically installs the software on c: drive, and from what I could see, does not allow you to change the software installation location (I install all apps on another partition and had to install the pr
