"Biggest Ink Scam EVER"
1.0 starson by shinelikeitdoesPros: When the printer is working and fully loaded with ink the prints are nice but...
Cons: I can't believe anyone would manufacture a printer that wont let you print black and white if one of any of the color cartridges are empty. As far as I am concerned this renders this printer completely useless every time I actually NEED it.
Summary: I print photos fairly often and therefore run out of color ink - one or more of the colors will be empty and sometimes it takes a while to get to the store between printing sessions - and actually, regardless of that. I should be able to have NO color ink cartridges in the printer and still print black and white if the black ink cartridge is full. This is the stupidest self-crippling of a product I have probably ever come across and I would NEVER buy another Epson based on this if they implement the same idiocy.
We all know that you can practically buy some new printers nowadays for less than the cost of replacing all the ink cartridges, and so they make all their money off the ink - but forcing you to buy cartridges you dont even need for another purpose is mental.
A shame coming from a company whose products are otherwise generally excellent.

We have had two of these for the past several months. We use continous ink flow systems on both so we are not affected by this issue. We love the wireless capabilities. The only glitch I have found is that if you change your wireless network settings you might have to reinstall the Windows driver to get the system working again.
