Pros Wi-fi. faxes,
Cons Ink expensive, Difficult to run maintenance,
Summary No happy. Worked great until I changed the cartridges. Then it quit dispensing ink all together. Tried cleaning the ink jets with no success Others have the same problem, Epson answer, buy a new one.. Time for the trash
Pros good printing, scanning functions, networks easy
Cons costly replacement cartridges and they hold little. Had to send the first two units back under warranty. The Epson Event Manager makes printing slower.
Summary I won't buy another Epson for a long while.
Pros Very easy to use and I leave mine on all of the time. Great for printing wireless over my router. Have not had one problem with either printer and the INK is avail. at cheaper sources like LD INK or some of the other ink locations.
This may be a little
Cons Very few. Cannot do legal size copies on it. Ink from Epson is not cheap and the chips on the cartage make it a little harder to use just any ink. And refilling a cartage is almost impossible. Some times I have a little trouble printing CD labels (getting
Summary Great printer and I would buy another one tomorrow if i needed one. I have both of these 610's for well over a year now.
Pros I enjoy the scanning capabilities. I print a LOT of contracts. Hardly ever use the copier.
Cons Do NOT get a paper jam, the printer is ruined.
Summary I love this printer except for the fact that the first and only paper jam I had necessitated the return of the printer to Epson for a re-furbished one. I've had it days over 1 year. I'm now printer shopping and hesitate to go Epson. Pity...
Pros Set-up reasonably easy
Generally works as advertised
Cons Premature hardware failure
No 2 year warranty if not registered
Summary Except for the surprising amount of noise it maade while printing, I found this printer to work as advertised for the first year.
Then the hardware failed (the LED screen went blank and the input interface froze). Unplugging and replugging in the printer would fix it for a while, and then the same thing would happen. That meant important faxes were not getting through.
I called Epson because the printer came with a 2 year warranty. Well, I was wrong. Epson said that unless I registered the product by mail or online, the warranty was only good for 1 year! (I didn't register thinking it was illegal to withhold warranty for lack of registration!) They said that Amazon might honor the 2 year warranty to replace the machine, but of course, they didn't.
So beware of just-past-one-year machine failure. If you do get an Epson, make sure you register it to get the 2nd year of warranty.
