Pros Build Quality
Included Cartridges - High Capacity!
Relatively Small Footprint
Duplex Printing (auto)
Duplex Scan & Copy (auto)
Cons None Really
Summary Just unwrapped and installed my WorkForce 635.
Every aspect of it so far has exceeded my expectations. The workmanship, design, quality, etc are all superior to competitors. (However, at $160, it should be top-notch)
Setup was a snap, and documentation is terrific (and real paper, not just a pdf). Oh, and a MAJOR bonus... four high-capacity ink cartridges are included! High-capacity! Unlike Brother, who intentionally incluces "Starter Cartridges"
Test page printed beautifully. Tried a fax - worked just fine, and can do 2-sided as well. Scanned to PC, or to thumb drive via slot.
The drivers on the CD were (of course) out-of-date, but when installed it automatically checks for new driver updates and installs them.
I love the small footprint - only had 18" of width, and very few all-in-ones would fit (hear that Canon?). Also fairly lightweight. Front panel tilts upward to make it easier to see - an unexpected plus.
Pros Fast printing
High & Extra high capacity cartridges
Wi-fi setup was easy
Large paper tray
Good quality prints
Cons Haven't found any yet. Paper tray feels a little cheap, but hasn't had any problems yet.
Summary I also just got this printer, and so far, I'm thrilled with it. I replaced an HP Officejet 4500 that was having mechanical problems aligning the cartridge heads. Selected this one for the Wi-Fi and full features.
I love that it can print & scan in duplex mode, rather than having to manually reverse pages. I also love the high capacity ink cartridges that come with it, and a large paper tray that doesn't need to be refilled every couple of days. The printer has four cartridges (cyan/magenta/yellow & black) so you only have to replace the ones that are low, and pricing the cartridges online, they are very reasonably priced.
Setup was extremely easy, and the software does 99% of the work. I downloaded the most recent version of Epson's software from the website, rather than using the setup CD. This worked perfectly.
For a small office or home productivity, this printer can't be beat. Definitely worth the money. Shop around and you can find it for $130 or so.
Pros Easy set-up (used a USB port, didn't try the wireless). Nice quality of print, both text and photos. Small footprint.
Cons SLOW, SLOW, SLOW! Black, text, or color photos...hit the print button & go make a cup of coffee. Ugh! I expected more. Also, it's quite noisy, you hear every move of the print head...back and forth, back and forth.
Summary Works great, but don't want to have to sit and wait for my documents to print. This one is a SNOOZER! Back to the search for a good all-in-one.
Pros Prints and scans when connected through USB
Cons Have never been able to get consistent wi-fi connection to print from any of our computers...works first day and then that's it. Ink is EXPENSIVE and doesn't go far. Cannot install new driver(s) for Lion.
Summary I have set up this printer on 3 different laptops to print through wireless; each of them worked the first day after setting it up, then it quit working and we kept getting 'no printer connection' errors with no resolution to the problem.Wireless printing--NO; OSX Lion--NO
I updated the driver for Lion on my new computer and now can't even find the printer on my system, Oh, and there is no place to get the driver to try again--you have to go through Mac's 'software update', which doesn't show it as available any more, since it did the update already. Now I can't use the printer at all on my laptop.
When the ink runs out, I will be buying a new printer.

Pros It was a nice scanner while it worked, Scanned Photos well.
Cons Does not work for long. Horrible Customer Service, Bad warranty paramaters. Poor warranty compliance.
Summary purchased an EPSON workforce635 in Aug 28 2011. After about 8 months I started having problems with the printer. I called EPSON about the problems. I was told that I had to take it to an authorized repair shop. The nearest authorized shop was a 6 1/2 hr. round trip for me. I would have had to make that trip to drop it off and again to pick it up after it was fixed. I refused and spoke to 3 different customer Service Representatives before they agreed to send a replacement. What I received was a refurbished unit. It only took that one 2 weeks to start having problems. I called EPSON twice about the problems with the refurbished unit until it finally quit working all together after I had had it 3 months. I called EPSON again. They again said I would have to go to the authorized repair center. Again I said that was not an option. I was told that replacement units are only under warranty for 30 days so they would not do anything. I pointed out that I had started calling after having the replacement only 2 weeks. I had to speak to 5 customer service representatives this time before EPSON agreed to send another unit. It was strongly reinforced after that agreement that this unit would be the last one that EPSON would ever send me. I have had the 3rd model 635 for a week now and so far, so good. But I won't own an EPSON again. They don't stand by their products.
