Pros: It was a nice scanner while it worked, Scanned Photos well.
Cons: Does not work for long. Horrible Customer Service, Bad warranty paramaters. Poor warranty compliance.
Summary: purchased an EPSON workforce635 in Aug 28 2011. After about 8 months I started having problems with the printer. I called EPSON about the problems. I was told that I had to take it to an authorized repair shop. The nearest authorized shop was a 6 1/2 hr. round trip for me. I would have had to make that trip to drop it off and again to pick it up after it was fixed. I refused and spoke to 3 different customer Service Representatives before they agreed to send a replacement. What I received was a refurbished unit. It only took that one 2 weeks to start having problems. I called EPSON twice about the problems with the refurbished unit until it finally quit working all together after I had had it 3 months. I called EPSON again. They again said I would have to go to the authorized repair center. Again I said that was not an option. I was told that replacement units are only under warranty for 30 days so they would not do anything. I pointed out that I had started calling after having the replacement only 2 weeks. I had to speak to 5 customer service representatives this time before EPSON agreed to send another unit. It was strongly reinforced after that agreement that this unit would be the last one that EPSON would ever send me. I have had the 3rd model 635 for a week now and so far, so good. But I won't own an EPSON again. They don't stand by their products.
