"Buyer beware"on by bekindtoothers
Pros It prints, Some times......
Cons INK. INK INK. I own a workforce 500. uses color ink to print black text. No way to buy pass. I bought this printer because the store I bought it at said they were good on ink. 70 dollars in color ink and I dont print in color. It is my understanding that
Summary I Talked to Epson on the phone and ask if the newer workforce uses wells for ink. They said yes. If you are printing in black ink only and run out of color it will not print. You must replace the color well. No bypass even in the propertys when set to black ink only. They said it uses color ink to clean the heads. I like to do tha manualy. Not when they tell me to, what a waist of ink and money. 70 dollars in color ink and I dont even print photos or color copys. Its a bite when you got to print your black text page and you cant print any thing at all because a yellow or blue ink well is kinda empty. Funny, when I changed the blue ink because it said I was empty. I set the old well on in a dish. In the morning enough ink had drained out over night to print out a photo copy of a blue sky. It is my opinion the ink wells are not empty. Hence the last black page I print before I am made to change the black ink is a bright as the first page off of a new ink well. No fading at all. My old printer I could print black until you couldnt read it any more do to fading and lack of ink. I will never buy any Epson devise again. Buyer beware!
This is my opinion and my right to my opinion. I make no clame to the acuracy but do hold up my right to free speach. I hope you dont fall for this, ask your sales person about ink wells vs ink cartrages.
Pros Looks Fairly Pretty
Cons -Runs out of ink after about ten color sheets of paper 8.5X10"
-Scratches very easily
-Hard time connecting to Wi-Fi
-Jams every five pages or so
-Doesn't accept other brands of ink (off brand)
Summary I am completely disappointed with Epson. Mostly, I'm disappointed with CNET for recommending this product. It's been a HUGE disaster. I purchased this for my business and it's been a giant waste of money and thorn in my side. I get a little grumpy every time I look at it and I'm finally throwing the thing out today. I've had it for about two years and have kept it on a shelf and used it about 13 times in all. Each time there's a new problem. I've had assistants try it and without coaching them, they've all told me to "get a new printer" or "this thing is a piece of crap." I've seem mild mannered people get very irritated after having to deal with this machine. CNET, why did you endorse this thing. WHY!! I've since been using an HP printer, what a delight. HP is the way to go. No problems. I check consumer reviews and NEVER check the "editor" reviews on CNET anymore. I have an increasing suspicion that they are paid or given free products for a nice review because this thing is crap. Did I mention they replaced it twice? That's right, it's CRAP.

Cons bad bargain
Pros I have nothing but glowing reviews for this all in one device. It is very fast in printing for an ink-jet. I have tested it out on almost every level and only had to read the manual once to enable receiving a fax (have to push a button to activate). I rec
Cons There is no multi-purpose tray to feed simple envelopes. Have to open a tray to place envelopes.
Summary Just a great printer overall, get one before they are gone or replaced with newer model.I recently got to test printing from my HTC Sensation android smart phone and it worked first try.

It connects well using USB, Ethernet or Wireless networking. I even managed to successfully connect using 2 methods (USB and Ethernet) on the same main computer, something that is not encouraged and may see warning message that I ignore when printing on the network side. :) However, printing from another networked computer (laptop) works fine on the network side as the main computer is mainly connected using USB.
Of course, I got this printer for the duplexing capability. It is fast printing, scanning, copying duplex as well. I have not tried duplex or color faxing, but who needs to?
Great product all around in the end. Get one before they go out of stock.

Pros Fast as promised; good quality output; quality structure
Cons Scanner is very hard to use re. connectivity and software
Summary No regrets for the choice but the WiFi connectivity is unreliable with Win 7 laptop that has to reconnect every day when returning to office; Would be great for one time connection; when it prints wireless I still can't get it to scan wirelessly. Could be me. I haven't called yet for tech support.
