"Plastic junk only 2 years old wastes lots of costly ink"0.5 starson by sophia071
Pros: When it works it makes nice photo quality prints, but at what cost?! Don't bother!
Cons: Uses INK to "clean" nozzles and still doesn't clean them! Stops working correctly after little or light use! Prints bands through your prints wasting ink and paper. Simple problem that is impossible to fix.
No room to work around on the inside to repair
Summary: I have been a fan of Epson printers for awhile. I am tired of having to go buy a new printer every time it starts printing with lines through everything. This printer is sealed up so well you can barely get your hand in there to try cleaning or repairing. This printer is not used everyday so it has had an easy life the last 2 years. Which is why I refuse to waste anymore money on Epson. They obviously only care about ink sales. I think it is silly that if I try to "clean the nozzle" it uses up ALL your ink!
That's $60 worth of ink out the window! I used a small amount of alcohol to try and clean the things that stick into the ink cartridges and it has been a printing nightmare ever since. I need a tougher machine. One that won't wilt into a puddle at the slightest cleaning. There is a better design that will allow a consumer to use a printer for decades without having to reset a counter or somehow soak up all the ink that gets wasted in the stupid sponges!
Save your $$ and go to a printer that cares about consumer costs and repeat customers over profits from planned obsolescence. This thing will end up taking up a space in a landfill. What a waste! Get a clue epson, you're losing us!
Epson I loved you for your ability to scan negatives and adjust histograms but I won't take your abuse anymore! HP here I come!
