"Adios no mas HP"
on by awesomeBLTPros Scanning speed (12 seconds per page average)
Fast pdf file conversion of scanned documents.
print quality.
smudge resistant ink (alcohol based).
sheet feeder.
Software.
Wifi install.
user controls
cost per printed pageCons None so far.
Summary I just replaced my HP printer with the Epson Workforce 845. I got tired of the HP's slow speed and even slower pdf conversion. I scan a lot of documents and do pdf conversions to email and the 845 is the most bang for the buck in this category. I have all my computers on the home network (4) attached to the printer by wifi. The install was seamless with the Epson software provided. I just got the printer so have not tried all the functions yet. But so far so good. I bought this printer based on the CNET review and as usual they didn't disappoint.

"Didn't work out of the box. No 800 # for support."
on by snowdogmomPros None since it didn't work out of the box.
Cons Poor Customer Support
No 800 number for support
Very poor setup instructions
If it fails out of box they want to put a hold on your credit card when they send out a replacementSummary Never had a printer fail for me before right out of the box. Got through setup through installing the ink cartridges and then the display just kept flashing. None of the controls were recognized. Nothing in the instructions covered this situation. Called Epson customer support, no 800 number. After minimal trouble shooting like powering printer off an back on, checking for any obstructions, unplugging it, all of which I had already done they said I would have to send it back and they would send a replacement. They would have to put a hold on my credit card to assure that I returned the defective machine and I would have to take it to a FedEx location. Will be it taking back to where I purchased it and will not be getting another Epson based on this experience and the experience with customer support.

"unreliable printer"
on by nii-1Pros looks good
Cons not economical on ink. paper jam issues when there is no paper jam. lots of technical issues. cheap construction
Summary Have had 2 previous epson all in one printers that lasted 5 years plus each but this machine (workforce 845) was a total waste of money. Started mulfunctioning after a year. Did not live up to expectations or what epson drummed it up to be. Never had a printer used solely in the house sporadically go bad after one year. I will be leary of another epson printer umless these issues are corrected.

"Prints lines in images embedded in documents"
on by JAAS1Pros It's ok, prints text fine, easy enough to setup. I like the big screen.
Cons When printing pictures embedded in a word document it prints lines in the pictures on quality print. Big 1/4 inch lines on normal print.
Summary If you are printing documents with pictures in them I do not recommend you get this printer. I did see this issue in other reviews for this printer. I based my decision on the overall 4 star rating, the majority of ratings for this printer did not mention picture issues. This is not a 4 star printer by any means.

"This is a Dream Machine"
on by peb_1861Pros Easy Setup, no issues. The dual paper trays with a total capacity of 500 pages, is a very nice feature. Printing in Economy (draft) mode is very good. Printing is quick and efficient.
Cons Nothing at this time.
Summary I am very pleased with this machine. Seems to be easy on the ink which is a BIG plus. This machine printed out 12 double sided pages before I finished entering comments in the Pros: section. This is a very nice machine, all in all a very good purchase.
