"Adios no mas HP"on by awesomeBLT
Pros Scanning speed (12 seconds per page average)
Fast pdf file conversion of scanned documents.
smudge resistant ink (alcohol based).
cost per printed page
Cons None so far.
Summary I just replaced my HP printer with the Epson Workforce 845. I got tired of the HP's slow speed and even slower pdf conversion. I scan a lot of documents and do pdf conversions to email and the 845 is the most bang for the buck in this category. I have all my computers on the home network (4) attached to the printer by wifi. The install was seamless with the Epson software provided. I just got the printer so have not tried all the functions yet. But so far so good. I bought this printer based on the CNET review and as usual they didn't disappoint.
Pros None since it didn't work out of the box.
Cons Poor Customer Support
No 800 number for support
Very poor setup instructions
If it fails out of box they want to put a hold on your credit card when they send out a replacement
Summary Never had a printer fail for me before right out of the box. Got through setup through installing the ink cartridges and then the display just kept flashing. None of the controls were recognized. Nothing in the instructions covered this situation. Called Epson customer support, no 800 number. After minimal trouble shooting like powering printer off an back on, checking for any obstructions, unplugging it, all of which I had already done they said I would have to send it back and they would send a replacement. They would have to put a hold on my credit card to assure that I returned the defective machine and I would have to take it to a FedEx location. Will be it taking back to where I purchased it and will not be getting another Epson based on this experience and the experience with customer support.
Pros Works well until jets clog
Cons Jets poorly designed and known to clog--Epson WILL NOT honor warranties
Pros i can't say enough...beats any printer i've ever had
Cons none performs flawlessly
Pros 2-sided printing
Cons see list below
Summary paper jams 30% of the time, rips through ink like you've never seen, louder than any other printer on the market, prints fail almost 20% of the time, que-ing feature forgets jobs and or messes them up, the wheels that move the paper along create creases or track marks on paper thicker than 80# cover, will not scan to my yahoo or gmail accounts, says there are paper jams but there arent, fails to grab paper half the time, grabs 3-4 sheets of 60# gloss text at a time and then jams.
overall, i would like to find the person who handles quality control for this particular printer so that i can shove a sharp metal object through their stomach.
this printer F-in sucks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
