Pros Quick easy set up, easy to use, easy to scan or print 1 page or dual pages, quiet, good printing and lots of it between ink changes
Cons none to speak of
Summary LOVE IT LOVE IT. Quick, smooth, easy scan inteface w all the basic settings plus a little. Have always been HP fan, bought a HP8600. dang thing scanned in images with GIANT file sizes. Much of my usage is archiving business documents (scanning in records). file size on HP was unacceptable, and yes, I know how to change the settings, dpi, image quality etc relative to file size. Never really got an acceptable file size even on lowest settings where document wasn't even viewable. Have an Epson NX510 printer that travels w/me, nice little machine so what the heck, bought the big Epson all in one w auto sheet feed scanner... LOVE IT. Easy to use, wireless anywhere in the house/office, scans quick, file size good, dual sided print or scan or edit, etc. HP was MUCH slower, clunkier, noisier. Took it back of course.
Didn't go to HP model and dog it like I should, but if you are looking at this one and comparing it to the HP8600, there is no comparison. The only thing similar in these two are the size they take up on the desk, similar. Nothing to really complain about with the Epson, easy to set up and use. sets on my desk and does whatever its asked to all day. Love the large ink containers, lots of printing between changes. thats it, had to tell the world of my complete perfect experience w Epson vs HP.
Don't waste your time any further trying to GUESS which machine will do the best job. If there is a better one out there it isn't in this price range. This unit will not leave you wondering if you made the right choice. TK owner of a trucking company.
Pros High Quality, Easy Setup, Versatile, Good Feeding Mechanisms
Cons Big & Heavy (a con to some but a plus to me)
Summary I bought this printer 1 year ago. We were getting ready for my daughter's wedding and needed to replace my old workhorse HP Photosmart 2610. I liked the idea of large ink cartridges and have had good luck with previous Epson printers. I have not had any of the problems mentioned on this board. Firmware updates have gone flawlessly. Prints have been of excellent quality, even the pictures we printed for the wedding decorations as well as the invitations and envelopes. The feeding mechanisms have never jammed yet.
I must mention that the cartridges that come with this printer are full size and last forever. I was expecting them to run out in a couple months so I bought a full set to have ready. The originals have lasted a year! I am using this at home and as I said we printed a lot for the wedding and we have printed a normal amount of home and school stuff. I am amazed these cartridges lasted so long. Replacing the black cartridge the other day was completely painless and quick.
I have connected 5 different PCs by WiFi over the last year and everyone has gone just as it should. Very impressive.
Scanning and copying have worked very well. The duplex mode has worked flawlessly and the feeding/scanning of multiple documents is a blessing. No jams have been experienced.
I compared this printer to the HP 8600 at the time I was shopping and I know I would have been happy with the HP too but I got a much better deal with the Epson 4530 and do not regret my purchase.
The printer is big and heavy. To some this may be a negative but to me it is a plus. My desk doesn't shake during the process as the mass of the printer doesn't react like the light ones do. I have always had better luck with heavier printers. Perhaps it has to do with the weight of the motors and mechanisms as well.
I heartily recommend this printer.

Pros When the printer is leaking yellow ink...
Cons When the printer is leaking yellow ink...
Summary I bought this printer in March 2012, and now it is leaking yellow ink. I spent a little more on this printer and though I finally found a decent product, but I was wrong. I soon found out that the ink leak has been a known problem of all Epson's printer; and of course, it always happens after the warranty expired. Apparently, Epson chose to ignore it. They won't offer any help (their so called service centers is non-exist). So I suggest anyone who is looking for a good printer should stay away from Epson. (You can check Google or You Tube...just key in Epson printer ink leak...you will find you are just one of hundreds, may be thousands of disappointed customers.
Pros Easy to setup
WiFi works beautifully
Cartridges reasonably priced and go for ages.
No expensive drum to worry about replacing.
Quality is sensational.
Cons I have to replace my other printer since it is so inadequate after using this one.
Summary Does everything it should without effort. A serious challenger to colour lasers, as there is not a warm up time.
Pros Print quality okay. Speed okay.
Cons Drops WiFi regularly. Tempermental, not a reliable business machine.
Summary Buy something else. Since August 2012 I have contacted Epson support over 20 times just on WiFi connection failures. Replaced my router, problem continued. Finally, black ink cartridge not recognized and would not print. Epson advised improper cartridges were supplied with unit. New black cartridge shipped to me. Did not resolve problem. Unit deemed defective. Replacement sent. Replacement, refurbished, failed to work. Unit grinds gears and labours. Return procedure a pain. Now I get to do it twice, yippee.
If you value your time and productivity, stay away. Look for a company that is serious about building reliable and long lasting machines. Verify that your units can be dropped off at the location you purchased from and avoid the courier/packaging dance. It's neurotic. Later Epson!
