"Why such awful reviews?! This is an excellent AIO."
Pros: Networking ability, print quality, interface & ability to work with Mac and PC, excellent scanning capabilities, fax abilities and ability to fax directly from Mac or PC, browser-based control panel, stability, small footprint, document feeder, more.
Cons: Nothing. Over 21 years in business, this is the best All-In-One (AIO) I have ever owned.
Summary: I signed up for CNET just to write a review for this All-In-One printer. I don't have any idea why it is receiving such bad reviews! I bought mine about 2 years ago. I have it plugged into a router and have access to ALL its functions through my PC and Mac plugged into router. This includes three laptops using wi-fi; 2 macs and 1 PC laptop. I had to wait for 3 months for the Mac scanner software to come out but I just used my PC desktop during this time. The print engine is excellent and prints between 600 and 1,200 DPI. The scanner works perfectly scanning in B/W, grey, or color. The document feeder has jammed once in 2 years. All software works perfectly with a very easy to use and informational browser based interface. Occasionally if I am working on the router, the printer goes off-line. I just restart the printer for full function. That is the extent of my problems. This printer has been so dependable and done such a great job for me, it actually makes me mad it has gotten such bad reviews! I *seriously* can't understand the problems I have been reading about.
The 3390 is an excellent, essentially flawless All-In-One printer. If you are looking for a printer, scanner and fax for your PC, Mac, laptop (wi-fi). or blended business environment like mine, this is it.
