Pros Good print quality.
Cons Scanner did not work. Fax did not work (2 separate machines). Tech support is lousy.
Summary I had my original one break 4 months after purchase and the replacement 7 months after original purchase (3 months after it had been sent to me). Tech support will not honor my warranty since they sent out the 2nd machine. I am breaking mine (physically) for my business, since it does not work anyway, and buying another brand. 2 duds in 7 months and HP will not honor warranty. Disappointing from HP.
Pros The printing aspect works great and handles a large print jobs.
Cons The network scanning feature loses all contacts when the printer is powered off.
Summary When you buy an MFP you are paying for extra features, so when giving this one star, I'm not giving it credit for its reliable printing, because you can buy a regular printer to accomplish that. I banked on this being a good network scanner with a feeder and I failed at getting this feature in one of our field offices, so now we're stuck with a printer that completely loses all contacts from the machine when it is power cycled. HP has no response nor a fix for this problem.
Pros Easy to use
Cons Toner is expensive
Summary We had 5 of these printers all purchased at the same time, they are about 2 years old and 4 of them have died in the past 6 months with no warning (no funny noises or problems before hand).
Pros Print speed is good
Cons The first two machines were faulty and HP replaced them immediately. This is the third. We've had it for 16 months, (4 months past warr.) and the scanner has gone bad.
Summary In addition to its being a faulty, poorly made product that has been repaired or replaced five times now, the controls are not intuitive: The copy button is small and oddly located so users unfamiliar with the copier stand there looking at it confused; the most obvious button is the red "cancel," and it is directly in the center, so most people press that one instead of "copy." It also goes through toner like LiLo thru vodka. My print supplier is mortified that he recommended this product to us and is trying to resolve the issue with HP - good luck on that. We are a two-person office, non-profit and we use if for two-sided printing and some copying, nothing too major.
Pros There is nothing positive I can say about our experience with this product.
Cons We've gone through 3 of these. 1st: Stuck on Scanner Error; 2nd: Defective ethernet cable port; 3rd:No paper pickup. HP has the nerve to offer sending us a 4th one as a way to solve the problem!! I think it's safe to say THIS IS A DEFECTIVE MODEL.
Summary This model is unreliable. Do not waste your time and money. HP Support has been quite frustrating to work with. Our problem is still unresolved and it started in December of 2009. To top it off, we accidentally misplaced the 1st printer and returned it months later after we finally found it- HP charged us $578 for returning it late, even though they admit to having received it. So we have no working printer and we're out $578, plus $50 for each time we had a replacement shipped and the money we originally paid for it. Incredibly unfair and unreasonable on HP's behalf.
