"Junk, junk, junk, junk, junk."
Pros: I threw it in the garbage. I couldn't even sell it on Ebay for 5$ and sleep well.
Cons: Never worked right. I should have returned it, but I figured it would start to work. Stupid. Lesson learned
Summary: How about this for a start -
I will never buy another HP product.
And I'm the kind of guy who, when he says that, means that. Ever.
I have two officejet d135 and they are OK. My review on those is under 102bguy.
I have two other smaller HPs that I am currently sellign on Ebay.
This piece of filthy garbarge is sitting in the garbage can downstairs where it belongs.
I got it for Xmas for my wife at a wholesale club for about 100 bucks.
The thing was jamming and copying poorly from day 1. So I tinkered, and tried to adjust, and crossed my fingers. And? And 1/2 year later I decided to get rid of it. After tinkering some more, I decided that I couldn't even give it to somebody in good faith, so I threw in the trash, took the 100 dollar loss, and learned my lesson. I will never buy another HP product. You hear, "HP" and you think "quality." Well, I guess with the first generation HP lasers, that was the case. IMO, no more.
Here's a brief list of things wrong with this device . . .
Cheap throughout. Cheap buttons, cheap paper guides, cheap catch trays. All in all, everything is loose and shabby. Paper doesn't go in easily. Paper doesn't come out easily. The print cartridges weren't seating correctly from day 1. Error error. Open the door, reseat them. Get ink off hands. The copies would jam. Error error, clear paper jam.
JUNK JUNK JUNK>
HP, all you needed to do was make a decent machine to keep my business. You have not.
Good bye.
Finally, if you read through the reveiws, you get 4 or 5 reviews in a row that are all rating a 9 (see Jan 12 of this year). The reviews list no bad things or only generic things (all inkjets are relatively expensive). Several of the titles end in apostrophes - like - Great all-in-one! Can't beat this price! Not top of the line, but great printer!
Folks, that is a shill. That is one or a few people peppering this site with spam reviews to keep the overall rating up. I rarely lie. I have no reason to deceive you. They do.
I recommoned NOT buying this garbage.

I want this guy as MY lawyer. He isn't just pushing paper but really making a case.

I have never contacted hp by email or phone and not gotten an equitable timely response.
I didn't see any where in "PatentLawyerGuy's user opinion that he had contacted hp with a complaint.
True enough just like cars or anything else, sometimes you get a lemon and no I don't suggest making lemon-aid.
If it's trash send back and let them pay to dispose of it and get you maney back.
I will add this also, I have also had equally great tech support from Lexmark and Epson.
On one incident Lexmark replaced an X1100 series printer for me in less than twenty-four hours, all because I was willing to take the time to contact them by phone and work with their tech support. Not bad in my opinion.
HP just happens to have the best over all support for operating systems and tech support help for their products.
Thanks,

Laughed out loud when I read your one line summary & again when I read your review history. I kinda doubt everyone who wrote in a good review is a "scammer", so I'm still considering this printer.
Bottom Line: I needed that laugh today!

Based on his opinion, I think PatentLawyerGuy was trying to use his Officejet for heavy printing and copying. This machine is clearly not designed for such use. This is basically a home office device. If you try to use like a heavy-duty office printer/copier, you're begging for problems.
I bought a refurbished 4215 from Staples.com for $80 BEFORE a $20 rebate. I am very pleased with its performance. Color output is great and it scans images into Photoshop reasonable quick. No jamming issues to date, but then again, I'm not attempting to run big copy jobs through it. That's why God invented Kinko's.
