HP Officejet 6500 All-in-One Printer

I have been an HP guy for over 10 years and have always liked their printers. When they came out with a wireless multi-function printer that used individual ink cartridges for each color, I was sold and bought it immediatly! This has been the worst printer I have every owned, in only 1300 printed pages, most of them black, I have been through 3 full sets of cartriges...and I print almost everything on "fast draft". Today, the magenta cartridge stopped printing, after 1 hour on the phone with HP and printing 10 full color test pages, the color finally started working.....and then I was out of ink. The HP support tech agreed to replace 2 of the 4 cartridges but that was it.

I am very dissapointed in this product and will not buy from HP again. I would stay away from this one for sure!

Uses way too much ink, but mostly it's the connectivity and incredibly slow communication time. I have to power it down at least every three times that I use it as it looses it's connectivity constantly. And when it does connect, it takes over 5 minutes to scan a color document into my Win7 machine. I have spent a good portion of my life with their tech support and I now realize that there is nothing they can do. They offered to replace it, but it would be much faster to just go to Staples and make copies/fax etc.
I haven't tried any other brand of "web based printers", but I'm thinking that they will all work alike. Maybe I can find a simple wireless model out there someday. I'll let you know.

I am very upset that I spent money on this machine! I will never purchase HP again, The machine is not printing Black. I have worked on this about a month ago for 3 days to get the black to work. 2 days ago, the Black ink is no longer working. The printer is noisy, uses to much ink, Scan does not work correctly. I have done all the up-grades and everything I can think of to repair this STUPID Printer. My suggestion is not to buy this printer. It will give you nothing but headaches.
