"You better have very deep pockets to own one of these chunks of crap!" on

Cons: Supplies are expensive. If you use anythinng but HP supplies be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars because even though HP says you can use other supplies, if you do, the printer is able to determine that you have and it will tell you that it has an "ID

"Very Bad Choice of Machines" on by Space Entity

    Pros: Great Text

Cons: separate Print heads and Print tanks

Summary: Bought this about 15 months ago and now am receiving a IDS Error (bad print heads). The cost of the print heads run almost as much as another AIO. Since I use this for only faxing and have never used it for color or photo printing, I feel that its unfair having to replace the print heads that are suppose to last 30,000 pages! This machine hasn't even printed 100 pages yet! If I knew that the print heads were separate, I've would have never bought it!

"5th HP in a row with problems" on

    Pros: nice features

Cons: Features no good if the unit doesn't function. IDS failure problems. HP tech support useless.

    "Monstereous Mistake" on by hp37a

    Pros: Company Paid for it

Cons: Does everything and does each one badly

Summary: Mediocre waste of money. I got a distinctive ring phone number for fax feature. Once DSR set, often it will turn on with fax signal on other 2nd phone conversation line.

Most nauseating thing about HP is their monoply with ink cartridges. Instead on one or two, this one has 4 cartrigdes and 4 separate print nozzels. They make their money with ink after sale, so corprate suits decide lets put 8 ink replaceables in this machine. (And next year 16?). Hateful monopolists.

7130 has ugly victorian electric box on electric cord, and for 6 months the machine tripped out and shut off on its own. Voltage fluctuations tripped out our fax. We had to reset it each day. I use WiFi

Right now we shut the awful fax off.

What I learned is do not buy all in one: buy each unit separately, separate fax, separate copier, separate printer, each one designed specifically to do each thing well.

I think when HP bought out Compaq, they got all the bad worms that destroyed Compaq to work to destroy HP.

    It is ugly.

What is good? They company paid for it. It copies in color OK.

    "Look elsewhere" on by arolson

    Pros: Average print quality

    Cons: Sheet feeder is terrible.

Summary: If you are planning on using this piece of equipment for faxing multiple pages or copying multiple pages, do not buy this. After 1 month of faxing/copying 1-2 times per day, the sheet feeder needed replacement. The replacement was just as bad. It will pull 2-3 pages through at a time instead of 1 at a time meaning you have to re-fax, costing even more money for long distance faxes. Supplies are very expensive, even when purchased through a discounter like Costco. I would avoid this product.
