Pros Slick design all in one, the touch screen is easy to navigate, lots of bells and whistle, and cheep price.
Cons Slow: self test randomly, takes 3 - 5 minutes; does not synchronize easily to network; ink takes a almost 15 seconds to fully dry, depending on coverage; and there is printer head cost on top of ink cost.
Summary This is a nicely package junk. Already 2 months into the purchase the front panel flashes wildly, requiring reboot. The quality of printing is good, but the print is not dry coming out. This printer also takes way to long to start printing, compare to the first incarnate the 8500. HP products have really suffered a lot on quality.
Pros This is one of the best All in One printers I've bought from HP. It has lots of great features for the price.
Cons Ink is a little on the HIGH side since it takes a total of 4 cartridges in order for you to use it.
Summary I just love the HP PRINTERS, to bad they're not as good at making COMPUTERS...
Pros Fast printer and cheap per page cost, if it worked.
Cons A week after the warranty ran out, the printer stopped waking up from power saving mode. If more than 5 minutes or so has passed since you printed, you have to unplug the printer, wait a minute, reboot and then print. The POWER button won't even work to
Summary DO NOT PURCHASE THE HP OFFICEJET PRO 8500A! DO NOT PURCHASE ANY HP PRINTER!
Pros I researched this machine, and ended up not buying it despite the excellent features. If a machine is not reliable it is not worth the effort.
Cons Machine goes into sleep-mode, and it takes forever to get it started if you want to use it. The Radio transmitter conks out for no apparent reason which even a Customer Help Desk-assisted factory re-set won't fix. Valuable productivity time lost.
Summary Time -and life- is too short to waste on stuff that doesn't work.
Pros Decent print quality
Cons Can't count on getting work done.
