    "Throw it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!"

by the computer genius on May 8, 2007

    Pros: Prints nice quality

Cons: Terrable Drivers and false Error messages

    Summary: Hi,

I am a Computer Technician that has been working on computers since 1994. Been licensed in Flroida since 2002.

Oh Boy Stay away from this printer. I had to do an office with 4 computers. I went there and installed this printer using it's network feature. When I got done we had error messages. Auto doc feeder open when it wasn't. I couldn't get rid of it. This was due to the bugy hp solutions program.

Since this was a new account and I was embarrsed I went back with a co worker whom I had to pay for a 2nd opinion. The office who owned the printer also complained that the default printer was switching all of the time. I don't know why but this printer was shared when it shouldn't have been because this printer hooks directly to the switch. Anyway if it's my fault fine or the companies fault. Anyway that got resoloved.

We resolved the sharing issue then atempted the error message issue. I confered with my coworker and we decided to uninstall and reinstall the pritner looking for the Mac address vs tcp/ip. Evey time we installed it it took 45 min it was stuck at 96% for at least 15 min's Finally we got done. No error messages and so on.

The owner of the printer wanted HP solutions. because she not only wanted to scan from the printer but she also wanted to scan from the computer. Well here we go again un install and install but this time the HP Way. (for some strange reason Hp Solutions won't install using a Mac address. We installed it the HP Way Wham Error messages after another 45 min install. I also had to do it on another computer (the Hp Way) when we did it Business Solutions didn't see the printer however the printer printed. That was another problem I had to reinstall it sometimes 2-3 times the hp way for business solutions to see the printer. If I had any chance of a correct install I had to uninstall all of the componants of his crapy softare msconfig everything out of non microsoft services and startup then I might have had a chance.

    STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRINTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I TOLD THEM TO RETURN IT AND GET A HIGH END LEXMARK THIS HP Pritner Was Terible!!!!!!!!!!!

I have installed alot of these mostly network, some local.......if you follow the directions for install works fine......if you don't, you get the issues you mentioned.

This guy can't even spell and I'm supposed to pay attention to his review? You would think a computer technician would at least know how to use spell check. I don't think he knew how to configure the printer on the the network properly so he blamed the software. Typical excuse when you're paying someone to do the work and he couldn't do it properly.

from one issue....HE DIDN'T INSTALL THE SOFTWARE CORRECTLY!...SORRY "computer genius"...you may be, but you don't read directions!

I should have read the reviews before purchasing this lemon. I ran into several problems with this printer and when I started to scan documents, I realized the computer genius's opinion. I returned this printer ... no telling what other problems I would have encountered with this printer. I don't think HP did a good job on quality control on this printer.

I have an old HP6110 all-in-one and it has NEVER done anything expect print from the Mac I got two years ago. If I want to scan, I have to disconnect it from the Mac and reconnect it to my dying PC laptop. I'm looking for a new all-in-one and need it to work with my Mac. This user mentioned the Mac, and that is a big help.
