"Excellent system but included driver is bulky"
Pros: Ease of use, user interface, networking, print speed, ink location
Cons: Driver software, small photo paper handling
Summary: The 7780 with its extra print tray is a super all in one - highly recommended. It has a great and very intuitive user interface and prints well and quickly. Unlike other HP printers you don't have to swap ink when you want to print photos which I think makes this the best all in one currently available.
While the included driver software worked fine for me, I much preferred the "HP Basic Features software/driver - IT Professional Use Only" from the HP web site. It allowed me to easily install the printer driver on all three of my XP machines. The downside of this driver is that some of what I consider to be "fluffy" functions like OCR are not included. There is complete detail on the driver version differences on the HP web site.
It took me a while to figure out how to load small photo paper into the system. I eventually figured out that photo paper only goes in tray 1 and you have to manually adjust the tray paper guides to make it fit. Once adjusted, the printer does an excellent job doing borderless 4x6s, not to mention laser like printing on plain paper even in "normal" mode. I opted for a 2 year warranty since it was inexpensive at purchase time but based on my results so far I don't think I will need it. Ink is somewhat expensive, opt for the "XL" cartridges instead of the standard cartridges. 4 ink cartridges make this more economical than the other HP all in ones.
