"Definately Over-rated"
Pros: Prints fast. Efficient use of cartridges. High quality printing.
Cons: Will not turn on to print, if not already on. Very noisy.*
Summary: *If you leave it off for a long time, and only turn it on to print, it re-calibrates itself for about 10 seconds, and it makes a loud screeching noise. The printer does not appear to be energy star compliant. When the printer goes into power-save mode/sleep mode, the main scan/copy bulb under the cover (like the white line of light on large copiers) never turns off. So for this printer to function properly, it has to remain turned on, yet it continually uses a lot of power, even when in sleep mode. If you don't care about a lot of power consumption, then get this printer, it is very fast, and makes incredible prints. But if you want a printer that will turn on automatically to print, and is energy star compliant, then buy a cheaper HP--don't waste your money on this printer.Updated
Correction! You can set the scanner bulb to turn off, in the seup menu on the printer itself. Times are to turn off after: 12 hours, 1 hour, 4 hours, and 8 hours. But you still cannot have the printer turn on automatically when a print job is sent to it. I e-mailed HP support, and they verified this fact, so the printer must always stay turned on, for it to print properly.

After reading user comments, I wondered if I made a mistake with this purchase. I have the 3210 All-In-One and the "darn" thing has worked right from the start! It is pretty noisy, but I don't sleep with it, so that's not an issue. I have Windows XP Home Edition and the software loaded like normal software. I checked to see if the light is on in sleep mode, only two on the button panel are on. I decided to see how quick the print wake-up call works while my printer sleeps and lo, it began to work as soon as I clicked print. The paper tray can't hold a thousand sheets, but I am not running a home office and I keep my supply very handy. I like mine okay! Better luck with the next printer if you don't care for this one.

I've looked into what you've said, my bulb goes off when its it sleep mode, and I don't mean just the LCD screen but the bulb where you scan. So, maybe there's something wrong with it. Because it should, and the calibration, 10 seconds, mmm that seems longer than mine. But yes when you've had the printer down for awhile it does recalibrate itself, but it shouldn't take all that long, I usually leave my printer on all the time, and my mom has one I bought her that is off all the time. May I ask where you got it, some places sell refurished ones, so thats why I'm asking.
