Pros Duplexing; Wireless printing (email print jobs to the printer)
Cons The ink doesn't last worth a darn.
Summary I used to own an HP Photosmart C6280. When it died I purchased this Photosmart 7510. I don't print often but when I need to print, I'm used to my printer executing flawlessly (a la the C6280). The 7510 is not even in that class.
The 7510 uses five 564 ink cartridges (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Photo). It seems to me that if you do not print for a week or 10 days, the cartridges dry up. I run the printhead cleaning protocol with no luck. Invariably I just replace the cartridges. You can imagine how expensive that can get.
If I could do it all over again, I would NOT purchase this printer. I'd also check the reviews on any HP printer I was considering to see if it used the same ink cartridge (564).
I am an HP printer fan but IMHO the ink issue causes this printer to miss the mark.
Pros Decent prints
Cons This thing is an unbelievable ink hog, with very few photos per round of ink cartridges. NO stopping when it's almost out of ink, so you end up with a lot of partially completed (wasted) photos.
Summary Do not buy! Now I am in the market for yet another photo printer. Wish I had my old Canon I860 back! Hate HP!!
Pros decent quality
Cons Uses entirely too much ink
Summary This printer is decent on the surface but it is way too costly too operate. I hardly print in color and I am constantly changing printer cartridges. Unreal...
Pros cnet provides ability to searc for other products from other manufacturers
Cons - eFax subscription fees
- Tech help from both eFax and HP are less than helpful
- eFax set-up from the HP touch screen doesn't work.
Summary Would not purchase or buy another HP. Suckered into this product as I had a huge stock of extra printer ink from another HP that didn't work properly. Don;t know why I gave them a second chance.
"Great so far!"on by ss96fan
Pros Easy to set up including setting up peripheral computers.
Cons Initial set up takes some time, about half an hour or so.
Summary Went to Best Buy looking for a printer for general use but mostly for printing pictures. We had done only a little research before going to the store. We became suspicious when a HP representative started talking to us but we went along with him and did decide on this printer. To his credit he didn't steer us to the priciest printer. This was on sale so maybe he had some incentive. Anyway, he sold us on the fact that the photo quality of the 7510 is better than the more expensive printers. We can print wirelessly from any computer in the house as well as from my iPhone, and we can even email a job from anywhere outside the home. There are separate trays for paper and photo paper. We have had this printer a total of 6 hours but so far it performs wonderfully.
