Pros I could not think of any thing good to say about the hp C7180
Cons Eats printer cartiages, Printer freezes up frequently,
Summary Don't waste your money on the HP C7180
Pros Works fine as a printer and copier on XP. Photo prints look great.
Cons Crashes on Vista. Scanned photos look terrible. Copies slowly. Photo prints easily damaged.
Summary I wish I had read the review by rjh213 before my purchase. I agree with all his complaints. Since I only paid $200, I accepted the poor software and just used another scanner when quality mattered. However, since I connected it to a Vista PC nine months ago, it has quite printing three times (the last, just yesterday) and required complete uninstall / reinstall to regain function. HP tech support was no help at all. I am now shopping for a replacement; NOT an HP!

Pros Wireless networking and blue tooth work great. More features than you can use.
Cons Horrible software with tons of bugs. Ink need to be replaced constantly. Keep many tanks around.
Summary I hate this printer. In my network I use this printer with both XP and vista. Much better results from XP. Software actually disappears in Vista. It is painfully slow. You're always waiting for it to go through some cycle. Worst part ink tanks run out constantly. I spent over $300 and would be happier with a $100-$150 printer.
Pros Wireless, separate cartridges
Cons Same productionfault in all C7180s
Summary I bought the printer July last year.
The specs were great and since HP has always been my favorite brand the choice wasn't hard to make.
Everything seemed fine, apart from the network-scanning part, a flaw in all HP networkprinters.
Until the printer ran out of yellow.
I inserted a new, original HP yellow cartridge and printed a photo I also printed the previous day.
The photo of the day before was looking great.
The photo I printed after the replacement of the cartridge was a disaster.
It was very dark and seemed to have a greenish layer ontop of it.
"Must have been the cartridge" I thought.
So I reinsterted the empty cartridge, but got the same result.
I contacted HP, but it seems they only hire blind people at the Dutch helpdesk, so they couldn't help me.
I was asked to scan both photo's and send the scan to them, for me there was a signifigant difference, but they just couldn't see it.
I went back to the store with both photos and handed in the printer to be fixed/replaced.
About 3 weeks later I got a new one, wich worked great........ until I had to change the yellow cartridge.
The exact same result.
Back to the store -> this time I got a printer from HP (in a HP service-box).
It was a diffent one, but this one had the problem right from the start.
So it was sent back, with a note asking them to send me a C7280 instead.
But I got another C7180 last Friday, with yet again the same problem.
After 4 printers I'm hoping the store will return my money so I can start looking for another brand/type of printer.
Pros loaded with features
Cons HP's website is incorrect
Summary I actually never set this up. I purchased it based on the information on the www.hp.ca website.
On their website there have a video summary of the printer. It's Steve Dotto talking about all the features.
In that video he clearly says the C7180 Prints on printable CDs and DVDs.
So I ordered it...not I findout that it does not print on CDs and DVDs and I'm therefore out the $30 shipping when I returned the printer.
I've emailed HP countless times telling them about the error in the video and to remove it or edit it...and they havn't responded or taken any action.
I tried their online instant help and the person didn't speak english and kept repeating the same thing no matter what questions I asked.
Because of all this I will never buy any products from HP again.
