Summary: I was a teacher when I had my old Lexmark. I printed 100's of copies a week an rarely changed my cartridge. I knew the ink was out when it didn't print correctly. I only bought a new printer because the LED display wore out. Wish soooo much I had gotten the Lexmark fixed! I am not a teacher any more so I have rarely used my HP printer, only one or two copies a month, and regularly get messages that my cartridges are empty - the messages go by date, not actual usages, and you cannot use color printing if you do not change the cartridges when told to. I set the computer's date way back and that helped for a while, but that caused other problems. ALSO, there is an EXPIRATION date on the cartridges which has nothing to do with usage and must press "OK" to agree that if you proceed and use the out of date cartridge, you lose your warrantee!

Plus, I spent much time with HP tech support and never got wireless to work, the main reason I chose this printer.

And even the smallest amount of liquid will make the ink run horribly even after years of drying.

I can't imagine that they still sell this printer new, but if you have an opportunity to buy a used one or even if someone offers it to you as a gift, avoid this printer! Costly, temperamental, annoying.
