"Horrible product: MANY problems"
on by itpro5Pros None that I am aware of
Cons - Doc feeder scans crooked most of the time
- Doc feeder door does not stay closed, so if you try to scan on the flatbed it fails because it thinks you have a document in the feeder unless you press hard on the door to close it
- Black and white scans areSummary I'm terribly, terribly, terribly (...) disappointed in HP. It seems like their recent products are hit and miss at best. I don't know what the cause of this is, but they better get their act together quickly or they're going to crash and burn.
Based on other reviews I have seen, I'm not the only one with these issues.
I had my old $35 printer that worked perfectly for about 4 years before it finally died. I read reviews on the internet and this HP printer model came highly recommended. So, I spent the extra cash to get a solid printer. This thing is MUCH worse than my old cheap-o printer. And the ink prices are ridiculous!
HP - If you are listening:
- Are you testing your products before you release them?
- Do you think running a 5-minute self-diagnostic with flashy graphics on a color panel fixes everything? Seriously?
- You would do yourself the most good by yanking this horrible product from the market. -
"Great Multifunction Photo Printer With ADF"
on by PCOIPPros Great scans ADF works great doesn't seem to jam
e-print your document directly to your printer via e-mail
iphone app - print documents and photos to your printer from iphoneCons Periodically looses Wi-Fi connection for no apparent reason. Print out a network test page and it violia! it reconnects. this is the only problem I see with this printer. Most of the Apps are pretty useless for most people but if you have a child in schoo
Summary This unit has great appeal as far as looks and design. I've had this unit for about 2 months and it has produced some great photos and image scans of documents. I've never had a jam with the ADF. I can't say the same for the Kodak all in one which the ADF seems to jam every time. This printer has a musical tone when you are done printing which is very cool. I didn't find the Apps very practical for the normal user but they should keep adding content and hopefully the apps will add value at a later date. I would not hesitate to recommend this printer. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating was due to it's inability to maintain the Wi-Fi connection on a consistant basis. Photo quaility of this printer is outstanding in my opinion, document quality is the same. What more could you ask for in a multi duty personal printer. If you look at the Scan resolution it's higher than the other photosmart printers I looked at which originally sold me on this printer. I made the right choice.

"My first review ever and I love this printer!"
on by wzelletPros Works well and gives great pictures. Purchased one month ago and so far no problems.
Cons None. I had read a review that recommended downloading software from HP on the net and that is what I did.
Summary I have some technical skills. This was my first time connecting anything wirelessly and I need some help from HP. They were wonderful and I was up and running in no time. In conclusion, I love this printer and so does my family. I sincerely hope that that you have the same experience!

"What a waste of time"
on by FullCFullPros Great Faxing
Great printing
Fast Printing
Easy SetupCons Does not work well with Windows 7
Scan function breaks downSummary I purchased this printer in February 2011 and was initally excited to have a wireless printer that I could scan with. This feeling was short lived as I was only able to scan without incident for about 2 weeks and then I begun to get the error message that :"the scan cannot be performed because another program or computer is using the networked HP device." So I uninstalled and reinstalled the software(after rebooting my computer, the printer and the router) thinking that maybe something was forgotten or I did something wrong. Once I did that I didn't use the printer for a few months (had a baby) but I figured after the uninstall/reinstall it should be ready to go as I hadn't used the scan function in over 2 months. Well, it wasn't I again got the above error plus some new ones, went on the HP website which instructed me to uninstall/reinstall from the website and try again. Well it did work for about another month and then again, nothing. So then I put it together that each time Windows 7 had a Critical Update that caused the system to reboot the scanner would stop communicating with the computers in my home. So this time I contacted HP because I was sure they would be able to help me all the tech had me do was reinstall without uninstalling which caused another issue. So then I had to uninstall/reinstall and I contacted HP again and they told me to take the printer back to the store that I had purchased it from over 4 months ago (ha). Finally, I got someone at HP who upgraded my case and right now as of July 15, 2011 my scanner still does not work, HP still has no clue they are making me troubleshoot my own printer (when I told them it was a software issue) and they said the only assistance I could get beyond this is I could get a replacement C410a...with the same software lol. So as I sit here and shake my head I wonder are they just trying to buy time until my HP warranty expires or are they really trying to help.
