"Software headaches/Update fixes!"
Pros: Great price on ink, and great quality
Cons: Out of the box software nothing but problems
Summary: I got this computer, for the annual family calendar project. The thought of saving that much on ink sold me. I installed and hooked it up, and got error messages, and it would scan but not print. It said that it was not communicating, but it was. I spent an hour on the phone with tech support, removing the software, and printer, and reinstalling, using the "web" option, that is supposed to install the latest version of the software. Now the printer printed, but still gave the communication error. Good enough, it was doing what I needed it to do.. until the next time I try to print. Back to step one, it will scan but not print. I attempted the same process, that tech support took me through, removing the software and the printer, this time the install failed. It gave me a support site, that gave me yet another updated version of the Easy Share software, and an updated driver. It is all good now, I think part of the problem was with my mp3 player, because I could not sync it, while the printer was turned on, during the first couple of attempts. At this point, it is all good, I printed out over 120 8 1/2 X 11 calendar pages, with photos, at best quality, and about 30 4X6 photo cards, and it has only used 1 1/2 color cartridges, and the black cartridge is still about 75% full. It was tough getting there, but now I'm very happy with the printer! Get the latest software, and firmware!
