"Worst printer ever."on by drrodge
Pros Worst printer ever.
Cons Poor quality printing, ink NOT cheap, non-kodak cartridges not recognized.
Pros Cheap ink, but does not save money in the end.
Cons No descreening feature with scanner, frequent replacement of print head required if not used every day, frequent paper jams.
Summary I am very disappointed with this unit. Quality scanning of newsprint and certain matte finish photograph is impossible due to the lack of a descreening feature. I must switch to my Epson scanner for these jobs. I've had to replace the print head twice within the last four months. I was told by Kodak tech support today that if the printer is not used every day, the print head will fail! Have had an HP printer for more than 15 years, which I still use occasionally without issue, I've NEVER had to replace the print head or any other part of the HP unit. I purchased the Kodak to save on the cost of ink, but after being told I should print a test page every day to prevent the printed from failing, I see that I will probably go through ink much quicker than should be required and end up spending close to the same amount I did previously. Not to mention the cost I have already incurred for having to replace the print heads. Paper jams are frequent and difficult to resolve. The only practical solution I have now is to junk the 6150 and go back to HP. With this quality of product, I fear Kodak's days are numbered. I certainly will not be buying from them again and will urge friends and family to stay away from Kodak!
Pros Good color prints. Pictures quality is good. WiFI Printer cartridges are quite inexpensive.
Cons Setup is a little difficult to understand.
Summary If you just need an inexpensive printer for the home that does color prints and fairly good quality pictures this printer is just fine.
Pros inexpensive ink
Cons Poot Networking - loses connections
Paper Jams if not perfect
Extremely Poor Photo Quality for Large Prints
Summary I replaced my out-of-date HP all-in-one with this printer because it received decent reviews and boasts cheap ink. What a mistake!!
The printer frequently loses connections with my router despite the fact that it's only 2 meters away. I have many devices connected to my router and they NEVER lose a connection nor did my old HP printer. I need to reboot both the printer and my pcs to print after it loses a connection.
The paper will jam if it's not absolutley perfect. Fixing a paper jam is a nightmare. It will jam in places that are not accessible.
The photo quality for 8.5" by 11" prints is simply awful. It's okay for smaller photos.
I've had 2 different Kodak digital cameras - a kodak 'printer dock' - and now this piece of junk. I had a soft-spot in my heart for Kodak going back to the days of analog photography -- I loved their film and high quality paper.
But this is enough - it's equivalent to American cars -- too much junk -- too poor quality -- no more Kodak anything for me EVER!!!
