"Far too many across-the-board problems. Don't bother."1.0 starson by ktevent
Pros: I've had the printer for three weeks. The output has been spotty. I can't recommend anything other than a very quick and intuitive setup. No prob setting up the network for the household's main computer.
Cons: 1) The printhead went midway through my second color doc. 2) Three painful hours with customer service. 3) Spotty connectivity. 4) It's hit and miss each and every time the printer is used. 5) Piece of garbage!
Summary: The output, when functional, is fine. Customer service gets a barely passing grade based on my single contact experience because even though the problem was solved it took way too long (nearly three hours!!). It was frustrating because the solution was to send a new printhead which seemed to me the correct outcome in the first minute. Between the not-quite 100 percent connection, the tech's mumbling and my 60-year old ears it was painful. The clincher is the performance ... full of glitches. There's no reliability. No trust. Your printer is something you should count on and not even consider if it will work. It better work. Not sometimes. Avoid the Lexmark s305. One more point, especially considering the overwhelming poor reviews by users: How come it got an excellent testing report from CNET? Did they send the bag of M&Ms? Suggestion to our CNET friends: Do the lab review, of course, but also include a few similar reviews by users based on CNET direction and parameters.
