"Totally useless"
on by harip79Pros Too many features to brag about.. never useful when you want it
Cons never works when you want it. Ink hoag
Summary I wish I had read the reviews before buying this. Office depot guys tricked me into buying this for so cheap.. 50$ (after a 50$ rebate on my old lexmark printer.). With my experience with the old lexmark, I had kind of decided not to buy lexmark anymore... but the 50$ deal was did the trick again.
This is an ink hoag. and never works when you want it to. and reset it 10 times, print those colorful test pages 10 times and then it starts working. I got new catridgers for 75$ again and have spent 1/4th of it printing test pages to get the printer start again. -
"Printer Ink Trouble"
on by nebulot1@gmail.comPros Nice Looking
Cons All ink or no print
Summary This printer has been nothing but trouble for me since I have gotten it! I've been a customer of Lexmark since 1994 and always had good results. But, this time it's different. The Prevail is a nice looking printer but it's body is flimsy. The printer uses way to much ink and just shuts down without a warning when the ink is low. It just won't work! It needs all of the cartridges to work whether you use black and white preference or all.

"Great printer/scanner"
on by phxpaul61Pros Higher capacity ink cartridges, with rewards program. Scanner works great. this printer works great with Mac OS-X, however Lexmark kind of orphaned it when Lion came out because they did not update their own software manager.
Cons print head had to be replaced under warranty; home phone line is on a dsl filter, in it seems to effect the fax function. The computer randomly informs that the tel line is incorrectly connected.

"Noisy, slow"
on by hfactor1Pros It does print
Cons Couldn't get the wireless to work, very slow to power up, slow in operation, and seems to eat up print cartridges, beyond noisy...
Summary First printer I've purchased in the sub-$200 market. Was using the Canon series with much better luck...
