  • "good printer and ok for the price"
    on by freakking250

Pros fast scans good software interface

Cons not really good photo printer

Summary Good printer for the price, not the best for printing pictures, but ok for the average person.
does print out sharp text and good for scaning pictures and does work on vista ultimate 64 bit

    Pros Cheap And Fast

Cons Software is pathetic, ink carts are only half full - open one!

Summary The replacement ink carts are only half full and you can't use Lexmark's high capacity carts even though they fit. The software locks you out of high capacity carts and refills. Ask your cart re-filler service about this off the record. It won't print faxes if the ink is low and that is most of the time since the carts are so cheap (and half empty). If you refill a cart it always reads low ink but will print until it is empty like a new one. When you receive a fax it will ask if the fax printed, if you answer no, its gone. Answer yes, and it will print it. Make sense out of that!

Get ready for random power failures within the unit and more lost faxes.

The user interface software is trash. I would consider a more expensive Lexmark but I will never buy their product again based on their philosophy that they run the cartridge game. Would you rather buy a 12 oz can of soda for $1.00 or buy a half empty can for .50? I'm not buying!

  • "Nice !, inexpensive"
    on by torpa78

Pros easy set up, ink is inexpensive compared to others

    Cons scanning is difficult

Summary When scanning from the glass to an email, it is impossible to have the scanned image the same size as the original. It is usually (much) larger and sometimes smaller but never the exact size of the original. This is crazy !

  • "Another Poor Product from Lexmark"
    on by TechDo

Pros Pros: sheet-feed scanning and copying

Cons It broke after a few months, but before it did, it rarely worked properly. Sheets didn't feed, printer locked up, machine re-set. The software doesn't allow saving scan settings. Even software I used 10 years ago was far superior to this.

Summary Avoid Lexmark. I've had several of their products over the years, and they have consistently been unreliable.

  • "HORRIBLE MACHINE"
    on by thacker22

Pros LOW COST BUT NOT WORTH IT

    Cons ABSOLUTELY EATS INK CARTRIDGES!

Summary LEXMARK IS TRYING TO MAKE UP FOR THE LOW COST OF THIS MACHINES BY SELLING INK CARTRIDGES THAT DON'T LAST. I HAVE TRIED THE HIGH CAPACITY CARTRIDGES ALSO AND I THINK THEY ARE EVEN WORSE. I HAVE ALSO PUT BRAND NEW CARTRIDGES IN THIS MACHINE AND THEY DON'T WORK PERIOD. THIS IS A GIMMICK.
