"awesome all in one, great print quality, great scan quality"
Pros: very versatile, quiet, great scanning, trans adapter
Cons: text could be better, good for printing notes and such, for good scanning unit MUST be on very solid surface
Summary: We've now had this AIO for about 2 months, and have to say that we have printed alot of photos(4x6 up to 8x10) on both epson and non epson papers(Kodak premium paper) and are very pleased with the quality of output and scanning that this unit generates. The high res scan head allows me to get good meaty scans of my negs and slides for fixing in photoshop, and the pict bridge link between my Kodak easyshare dx7590 camera and the printer is the nuts!!! All i do is hit the "share" button on the camera, tell it how many of what image i want, set the paper type and that's it! later when i get home, i turn on the printer and connect the camera to the printer via the front usb port and prints start popping out on thier own! It's *the coolest* thing! Scanning to print is equally easy, as is printing from card or copying(does good copies, even of sales receipts for rebates). We bought this machine specifically for photo work, so the semi-weak text(it's not really all that bad, either) performance doesn't phase us in the least, but i will offer a word of caution on scanning: We first had the machine sitting on a library table and scans were coming out fuzzy. Moving the unit to our oak file cabinet has made a world of difference in scan quality. The scans come in nice with no noise or artifacts, and with very little sharpening, allowing me to correct and sharpen to my taste. The scanner is very accurate, and the least amount of dust or hair will be reflected in your scanned image. All in all this is a great unit and it does the task of all around photo machine extremely well, and we are happy as clams with it. Photo output time seems good to me, and i don't have any complaints with scan time, either. I can see how the less photographic tasks(charts and reports and the like) won't look as good as other units, but when used strictly for photo work this thing can't be beat.
