"Serious Problems with scan to email function"
Pros: Good Print quality
Cons: Not truly intended for small business networks
Summary: I am a small business owner who needed a MFP that had a scan to email feature. We operate in an environment that requires careful record keeping and would prefer to scan documents to email rather than fax them in order to create a good electronic record. After careful research both online and with the Xerox sales rep, I chose the Phaser 6115MFP. Unfortunately, the machine does not support the scan to email feature as advertised. It does not support smtp server authentication. What does that mean? It means that no 3rd party email services will support this machine's feature. It also means that if you are lucky enough to afford your own email server and network administrator that you must be using a rather antiquated network software that does not make use of the security features embedded in more recent version of email server software. The machine does have excellent print quality, but for nearly $1000, there are a lot of less expensive MFP out there with great print quality, network capability, fax, etc. As a matter of fact, I have a Brother machine at home that has all those features at around $200. The main differentiator for me was the scan to email capability. I plan to return the machine. How easy Xerox makes that process for me will determine my overall satisfaction with the company. The Phaser 6115 is a giant disappointment.
