Pros Small, reliable, does each function well
Cons Slight paper curl as noted by others
Summary For a home office user, the price is right and this machine does everything well. We use it mostly for printing, but we also make copies (the flat bed allows scanning or copying articles from magazines and books) and occasionally send and receive a FAX. You can pay more to get more, but this model hit the price/performance sweet spot for us.
Pros Prints, Copies, Scans and Faxes Fast and Reliably with Good Quality Output
Cons Slight Paper Curls Deducts 1 Rating Point
Summary Don't be fooled by the few absurd low ratings. These raters expect $1000.00 value at a $300.00 price. This MFC is hard to beat for small office and home users at a very low cost. If you need a high volume, feature rich machine, by all means look at other options, but be ready to pay much more than $300.00.
Pros Sleek, compact design with a lot of features
Cons LCD screen is sometimes hard to read (and could be a bit larger); color scanning is slow
Summary I bought this printer from buy.com after researching it thoroughly on CNET. Overall, for the value (I paid $279 but received a $50 rebate) this product is great. It's easy to set up. And right out of the box, most of the features are self explanatory. I've only had to refer to the manual for some of the more advanced features. The print and copy quality are great. And it's super fast, that is, except when using as a color scanner. But considering it's designed to be a multi-function machine, I didn't buy it to be a full-time scanner; just for occasional use. If you're looking for a nice all-in-one product for your home office or small business, this is the machine to get!
Pros Easy to set up, excellent print quality
Cons Not beautiful
Summary After having struggled for more than 17 hours on the installation software for a competitive brand and having had five different telephone and chat conversations, each with contradictory advice relative to the web site, without embarrassment, I gave up. I purchased my Brother.
The installation was as painless as it always should be -- plug and play after downloading some drivers.
The user manuals (there are several) on the Web are easily accessible as are FAQs.
Printing and copying quality are excellent (I do not use the fax).
It takes a few minutes to get used to the Control Center which determines how several of the functions operate.
True, it may not be as "pretty" as some of the brands, but it is a lot easier to set up.
Pros I can copy and scan
Cons i can't use the driver of my multifuntion
Summary i try to introduce my cd and ask to use the internet with it to introduce it to my computer and nothing happens.
