"Incredible photo quality with super easy setup."
on by mickntexasPros Fast photo printing that has to be the best quality on the market. Wifi setup that is so easy my 11 year old son could do it. I can print photos from my iPhone (with Epson iPrint app free) from anywhere in my house. It fixes bad color photos (old ones) an
Cons Not really a con but man I had to take off a hundred pieces of tape all through the thing to finally be able to use it. Great to make sure quality is still there when you unpack but huge pain in the behind. Kind of big and takes up room. Honestly those ar
Summary I'm shocked CNET hasn't reviewed this printer yet. It is awesome. Caught this printer on sale at Fry's for $200. It does everything you would want a home printer to do and then some. Fax, copy, print photos or docs and to be able to do it Wifi. I downloaded the app on my wife's iPhone in the bedroom. She picked a photo and hit print and instantly the printer fires up two rooms away. Cool factor way high. It took longer to download the app then it did to choose and print the photo. So easy a child could do it. The first photo I try to "fix". It was a photo of my grandparents in their Ford Model T from the early 70's. Picture is turning orange from years of heat and sitting in a box. I didn't even read the manual and was able to have it scan, fix and print a new copy out. It's hard to believe you can do that much work and not need a computer messing with the picture. It's all done automatically. Tree leaves were brown mud looking in original and new pic had nice green color. So impressed that is does that by itself needing no help. And so easy and intuitive to use I didn't even crack the manual yet! I can't say enough good things about this printer. My Canon i960 printer is hitting the trash and I will never go back. Epson has a new devoted customer. If there were 6 stars I would give it that. Get one you won't be disappointed!!!

"Bright vivid pictures and clear defined text printing"
on by JMB80Pros Pictures are awesome even with the fast printing. Easy software to use, does not complicate the process of printing. Fast text printing without smearing. Well defined letters. Didn't know our old HP C7280 was that bad until I saw what the 835 can do.
Cons Crinkling of paper on the edge of text documents. May only be how we placed the paper in the try. I need to mess with it alittle more.
Summary Overall, I would puchase the Artisan 835 any day over HP Photosmarts. I Love the Quality of print this printer gives.
Not near as noisy as HP printers I had in the past. Easy faxing. Wireless connected to our system with ease. My windows 7 Laptop just required the software and driver be installed online instead of using the disk. Easy process.

"Great output, pity about the noise and software"
on by MerryDMPros Quick prints
Easy to install software
Network functionality
Great multi page scanningCons Makes random calibration type noises which are louder than any other printer I've had.
Software does not allow you to set the workgroup used for the network (their support recommends changing the network to suit the printer).
Noisy (pre and post printing)Summary Bought the printer for my home network. First thing I noticed after setup was that there is a default workgroup named WORKGROUP - this setting can't be changed, not a major thing, more frustrating than anything. It did however reveal that their support is not great when posed questions that are not all that simple. A recommendation to reconfigure my network is not really a solution in my opinion, plus it took three contacts to get to this point - the first two referred me to a FAQ page about confuring the printer to print on a network - something which I had mentioned from the onset was already done.
The printers output is great (don't know about photos as have a dedicated photo printer for that), the scanning good (particularly multi-page) and faxing acceptable. My only annoyance is the noise the printer makes pre and post printing, seems to be a loud calibration noise.
It is a nice looking device and closes to something very neat and tidy, but is rather large.
