Pros Its physically large and came well packed.
Cons Sound level is so loud as to render unusable in an office IMHO
Summary Total let down by HP, clearly they spent money on the engineering, but who let this washing machine sound get out of the lab? HP you can do way better.
Pros Prints well, fairly easy set up
Cons Its really noisy
Summary I recently picked the 2820 to sell to a client and set up everything in my office before taking it to the customer. The manual was a bit hard to follow as they had Step 1 in 4 different languages on one page, then continued to step 2, etc, in the same fashion. I much prefer it when manuals are printed with all directions in one language in one section. It didn't prevent me from setting up the printer, I just had to turn pages a lot. The printer is VERY NOISY, I may not deliver to the customer, depending on what my employer says about the noise level. Even when its not printing it will scroll through the toner cartridges, which is where the noise originates. Hopefully this will stop after being on for a while.
"Too much problem with the chips. Have to be an expert to install cartridges and toners"on by luzramis
Pros Good printing
Cons Cartridges, toners and chips prices
Summary Cartridges, toners and chips are very expensive. Besides one has to be an expert to install them or pay for the installation. The no proper installation of the chips will damage the printer. That is what happened to me. I lost all my money. Toner doesn't last as they are suppose to.
Pros Reasonably priced, good quality printing, copying and scanning. Good software if running under Windows XP.
Cons Noisy with frequent calibration. No Vista version of software available now or any time soon.
Summary Now that I have gone to Windows Vista this MFC is just a network printer and copier. The scan to PC feature is not available without updated software. Do not recommend keeping this device in the living space of your home (too big for that anyway) because the noise will be very annoying.
