Cons: Functions sporadically and no support from HP
Summary: The HP Officejet all in one prints well and has very useful features (scan, fax, double sided printing etc) and would be a great machine if it actually functioned more than 20% of the time. The intial software install plays havoc with your computer, slowing it to a snails pace, making Internet almost unusable and throwing up error messages every few seconds. This is a known problem and HP have provided a patch but it doesn't work. The printer spends more time disconnected wirelessly than connected and it can take several hours for it to eventually print a page. I have tried getting help from HP but they dont reply to emails and the phone help (from India!) was unable to solve the problems I was having, said they would work on it and get back to me but I haven't heard from them since. There is zero backup given by HP for its products and I wont be touching an HP product again. As much as this printer appears to have great potential, stay away from it!

Since my last user opinion, things have improved with this printer. It prints, faxes, scans and copies well. The wireless functionality works well as long as the printer and computer are switched on together. Wireless finction fails if the printer is switched on after you have logged onto the computer (print spooler error occurs). Also, make sure you install the update patch available at the hp site as the software provided with the printer will screw up your system without this patch.
So currently, I am pleased with the way the printer is functioning (with the above points in mind). Unfortunately, my opinions about HP support still stand. Be warned that if you buy an HP product and there are problems, you are on your own. The people at the HP do not know the products well, give poor advice and will eventually fob you off, pretending that they will get back to you, but never do.

I too have had horrendous results with the All-In-One OfficeJet 7410. When it prints it prints well...if you can keep the darned thing working...espescially in network mode.<br><br>This printer was designed to be the big daddy of all printers. I can only use 30%-40% of its features at one time.<br><br>The software never ever really fully installed...not all of the features are completely installed on my Windows XP Home SP2 system. Not because I didn't want them - the software stopped itself.<br><br>I bought this printer just for the Network mode...allowing other computers on my network to share one printer.<br><br>While in Network mode there is always one function or another that is screwed up...<br><br>Once one function is fixed another mysteriously fails...for example: my fax can be working - well - at one minute but then my scanner won't work...if I get the scanner to work my compter won't recognize or be able to communicate with my printer then if that problem is resolved my scanner won't work or something is always wrong with this setup.<br><br>Then for some reason my network ip resets itself back to IP 0.0.0.0 or to some other 168.000.255.0 or whatever it feels like at the time.<br><br>Anyone got any ideas?

I've been using HP products for my business for the last 15 years. Support for the 7410 (based in india) is the worst. Don't know how to say it any different. WOULD NOT buy another HP product. Very Disapointed. "PRINT SPOOLER ERROR" is unresolved in not just this product, but others as well.

I've had the 7410 since Nov. 04, absolutely no problems with the equipment and I've found the software extremely easy, intuitive heck I was up and running on my wireless network within minutes of taking the machine out of the box. I can't comment on the support because I haven't needed to call it on this product. However I have lots of HP equipment and have called support many times and never had any major issues. I know a lot of people have issues (IMHO mainly cultural)dealing with support in India however my experience overall has been positive and have always gotten solutions.
