"Are you serious?? I mean, SERIOUSLY.. come ON!"2.0 starson by mooburger
Pros: Good photo print quality. Decent set of multifunctions.
Cons: Disfunctional paper/photo paper trays and feeders. Photo printing software is slooooow, if you have an older computer, like I used to. Ink runs out quickly and is expensive to refill. Overall, SERIOUSLY over-priced.
Summary: I hate when products are marketed to "do so much!" yet don't do the little things well. I really don't care what bells and whistles something has (touchscreen functionality), if its day-to-day functions (printing documents, printing photos) do not run smoothly. In my book, as I'm sure yours, day-to-day functions should go on seemlessly, without a hitch...The type of stuff you'd never tell a friend about, "Oh man, you GOTTA get the FX-1000, it's document feeder runs SOOO smoothly." But the type of thing you WILL ***** about on a website review when it works like crap!
What the heck am I talking about you ask? The paper trays of course - Are you serious?? I mean seriously, I gotta pull the tray out, re-insert paper back in, 10 sheets, no, try 1 sheet, no, you like 3 sheets this time? What IZ This. Jeezus, you would think for that much money on a home/personal printer, the trays would work nicely. Nope. I don't have 1/2 hour to f*** with this thing just because I want to print a couple photos (but apparently I have 1/2 hour to go online, register at CNET, and write a review about it.) AND the killer is, I'M USING HP PHOTOPAPER TOO. Jeezus. You're killin me.
Thank god I got a new computer recently: It's canned photo printing software "Photosmart Essential" was also painfully slow on my old one... Thinking it's a memory hog... (??) but I don't know. I'm not good at determining that stuff. I just use things, and want them to work reasonably well, and within a reasonable timeframe.
My wife and I admittedly didn't do our research and homework on this one... Our previous printer got damaged in a move, so without wasting much time, we rushed out, got caught in the "oh this one's expensive, it's an upgrade from our previous printer, ... gee, it looks nice.... " - cha CHING.
Don't make the same mistake we did.
