Pros: I could not even get it to work.
Cons: The software would not work and HP help was unable to provide useful help.
Summary: I could not even get the software to work after help was provided by HP. I could connect to the printer through the system and print a test page but I could not connect via HP software. As far as I can tell all HP suggests is to uninstall and reinstall but after 4 times I simply took the printer back.
I have had bad luck with HP and macs in the past so perhaps the issue is simply one of compatibility. I loved HPs for my PCs but they seem unable to provide decent help for macs (they have limited special hours to get help for printers connected to macs as well) and this is the second time I have been unable to resolve HP software connection issues. I have also found that problems are not easily resolved on their website with macs either.
All in all, my experience suggests that HP is not very committed to the mac platform. I will stick with other printer companies that better support the mac. Even in a multi-platform environment they do not seem to be worth the trouble.
