"GOOD 'OL CNET AND THEIR BIASED IPOD MEDIA TACTICS...."
Pros: Rehaul of the 2.5 update
Cons: Can use a good portion of system resources if not configured correctly
Summary: Look, I really just want to speak about CNET. They showcase their iPod bias with glee. Every article about the Zune has an underlining message about how it'll never be the iPod.
Look at this review! (From the Cons section)
"only supports Zune MP3 players" - DUH!!!!! I have iTunes. I can't connect any of my other MP3 players up to it! In fact, let's talk about some of the cons; thee is not an EQ because users didn't use it in the first zune updates! Waste of space. Few, and I mean a few, really know how to configure an EQ without using pre-sets.
Ok, what else? The M$ "blocks"? It's always been like that. That would be like a travel agency discounting Disney because they use their own currency compared to six flags! If you are an Xbox owner, you can use those same points to buy music! And let's be realistic for a bit - that person that is buying their music is probably an xbox live user who buys themes and downloadable content. They're used to the point system! And licensing deals don't pop out of thin air. For all we know the Netflix intergration might also include the marketplace for the zune!
I could go on and on, so I will.
Why is it that CNET is always saying the zune isn't sexy? Read an official report about it anywhere on the site. Let's take the recent comparison between the Zune and the iPod nano. It lost because it wasn't sexy enough (my zune looks great wherever I take it!) and also because Apple users can't use the zune. I'm sorry, but Apple users can't use a lot of stuff unless they get lucky. It would be like discounting a tight computer game because it isn't on mac. I had two macs before, and I learned ways around the system (HINT HINT)
The zune is a great entertainment hub. Yea, it's lacking a few things, but they listen to their customers and provide us with what we ask for. I had an iPod before....felt like just another music listener. Quit looking at the zune as a step-child and give it the respect it deserves. There is a huge reason why the user ratings for the 3.0 software update look to be 5 stars!
