"Affordable stream of new music" on by anselmofoz
Pros: Supports the musicians
Cons: really none
Summary: This beautifully designed site lets member discover new music by exploring each other's tastes. However - unlike some of its competitor - it than let's you own the music you discover by trading your old CDs in for new ones ($1.0 per trade plus shipping).
They've clearly put a lot of thoughts in making the service as easy to use as possible; I never thought shipping & receiving CD (did I mention it happens through usps ?) would have been that fun.
The site is darn fast and clearly these guys are using the latest in web technologies, they must have a bunch of smart engineers!

Also, you so funny. Further, you're soooooo right. Lala is a gem of a site and one that has totally reinvigorated my love of music.

The sad fact is that anyone with 100 or more CDs who has been buying CDs for more than 5 years probably has at least half that amount they don't care to listen to anymore. Why let those CDs sit around collecting dust when you can easily and cheaply transform them into new-to-you music that you like now?

That's where Lala.com comes in. What's amazing is how easy and simple the entire process is. Lala is probably my favorite site now, and has been for the past 8 months or so.
